Fuji makes great cameras and great lenses. When I worked in broadcast news, over half of our Panasonics where outfitted with Fujinon lenses. I currently own the Fuji X-T3. Which is a state of the art monster of a camera. The predecessor, the X-T2 was also a really good camera. This camera however, is quite out of date. It will achieve decent quality results if all you are doing is posting to Instagram. But it's hard to justify considering it's successor has been on sale with increasing regularity since the X-T3 came out. The only scenario I'd consider this worthwhile would be if you are looking at getting in to the Fuji X system, but are stretched thin for cash. This will at least get you in to that system of lenses. Albeit with slow AF and not the best IQ.

Calaverasgrande" It will achieve decent quality results if all you are doing is posting to Instagram. " Thats a bit exaggerated, dont you think? Yes this camera is old in this day in age. But it is far from outdated. I'm sure anyone that has this or got this can get a few years of quality photos out of it. It still works with modern XF lenses as well as pretty much any lens thats ever been made, with the right adapter. It takes modern and standard memory, batteries are still made for it, and the sensor still kicks ass compared to most senors in its class. I would hardly dismiss this camera as a relic that isnt good enough to piss on.
eneroBut it's also not one, but two generations behind. Like I said it is a good camera. But a lot of folks had issues with these when they came out. They are harder to use than the more recent models. Most notably the AF is pretty annoying. I also find the EVF to be pretty appalling on this model. (my housemate owns one). I'd hate to see someone take this camera as their first jump into the Fuji pool. They may be better served by an X-T20 or a used X-T2.

eneroSeems a little (or frankly a LOT) over the top. Most of the average shooters (here and elsewhere) will never use their camera to the fullest. This camera would do for nearly everyone. I have an XPro1 that I use along with my 6D and other Canon gear. They're ALL very capable cameras.. not just for Instagram. That's just someone saying that who's uninformed and wants to be snarky.
eneroIt's just odd to do a drop for a camera two generations back. It's scarcely better than a contemporary camera phone. Any camera is a great camera when you are feeling you have internalized the exposure triangle and can get in the flow with your capture device. But honestly if you are going to get into MILC you should start with a relatively recent camera to do your work with. OTOH, Fuji has a great record of support for their cameras. Dropping new features on their customers with almost ever firmware update. You can spend a little more to get a used X-T2 and be much more current in capability. Especially for autofocus and video.

CalaverasgrandeOut of curiosity, have you ever personally used and owned an X-T1?
No I have not. Only used my housemates X-T1. Judging by the noisy, laggy viewfinder on that one I would not buy this camera. Like I said, if you are really stretched, go for it. But if spending a couple hundred more for an XT2 will break you, probably best not get into MILC hobby in the first place. Basically the only good use case I can think of for this camera is someone who is only going to use cheap adapted lenses off of ebay. So they will not be worried about slow autofocus. The XT-20 is another good alternative with a more up to date sensor and faster processing chip. I may come of as negative, but really just trying to look out for people just starting out. When I got my first DSLR, a Canon T2i, I fought that camera so much. It was slow, ugly and finicky. I learned a lot from it, but I don't think I took one 'keeper' photo in 2 years. By the time I upgraded to a better camera I was starting to lose interest in photography at all because of that 'obsolete when I bought it' camera. Likewise for all the cheap plasticy Canon lenses I bought. The L series and better EF lenses like the 85 f1.8 were great. But the EF-S lenses, most of the STM lenses are just cheap garbage. So happy I jumped to Fuji, who largely only makes great lenses with few compromises, and don't cripple their cameras.

I see a lot of CA and blur.
Why are you so abusive? Did I steal your girlfriend or something? I did not say I haven't used it, I have. I do not own it though, and I do not believe that you have to have used a camera that is 3 generations old to say. "Hey there are better ways to spend your money!". One thing that I have noticed in the past few years, is that internet trolling used to be confined to the more sketchy corners of the web. But it seems that now everyone takes the anonymity of the internet as license to pick fights with strangers over the smallest things. Instead of realizing that every single person in the world has a slightly different point of view. If you think someone is making a good decision with their money to buy an obsolete camera, that is your opinion 'man'. I think they are better off going with the X-T20, or a used X-T2. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/fujifilm-x-t20-mirrorless-digital-camera-body But hey, keep chucking rocks from behind your side of the fence.
