This body is currently on Amazon and other retailers for $599 brand new. It's worth mentioning that the X-T20 (next generation) is available on Amazon for $899.95 brand new.
Reading through the comments from the last drop, it sounds like there were a fair number of dissatisfied users who didn't receive what they thought they were paying for. Is there some kind of post-mortem about this somewhere, or some context for any of us who might be interested in this drop?

It seems that Massdrop is not much different than the notorious other super discount "bait and switch" operations on the web.
From my experience, these kind of online retailers only understand one language, the credit card charge-back fees and penalties. That is the only way to get them back in line and to care about their current and future potential customers.
cdataThe issue in question has been resolved in a satisfactory manner. I'm not sure if it was the supplier/vendor or massdrop's fault but the wrong (inferior kit) was sent.
Hmm, what's this? Not the 18-55mm, but comes with an extra lens?! I might be okay with this...

This is a pretty atrocious mishap by both Massdrop and its supplier. My experiences with Massdrop have been mediocre but this one is sealing the deal for me. I'll never use Massdrop ever again. Yes, it's not the 18-55mm, but it's the same combo Massdrop sent me, for $11 cheaper (after CA Massdrop tax), and I'd actually get the second lens! Take your business elsewhere, even if it is B&H :\
ec11That combo is already available for that price on Amazon. Of course then there's tax, which if you live outside NY you don't have to pay on a B&H order.
The whole thing is really aggravating and is basically nixing me buying anything of value again on Massdrop (might use it for hard to find "toys", but that's it). Like you I'm just about ready to unsubscribe from their list.
Personally I am currently wearing my tinfoil hat and wondering who screwed up ... and whether it was someone at Massdrop who didn't have their eye on the ball with the vendor.
This screw up is NOT cool. Particularly as I have already purchased good quality expensive 58mm filters for this camera/lens. In addition I was buying this for a trip on the 19th of May. I now have to figure out what to do.
I just received an email trying to explain this whole fiasco. I am deeply dissapointed with Massdrop and although I do understand that they may not be completely at fault I bought the product from Massdrop and not the vendor, that makes Massdrop accountable. The email basically states that we will receive a refund only after we ship the item back and it is received by Massdrop but from what I could gather WE must pay for the shipping back. I do not think that much of an explanation is needed to understand that this is completely unacceptable. I think further clarification is needed immediately on this matter.
Well my trip isn't as nearly as important as a honeymoon! Although you have a bit longer to fix it!
Check your RMA PDF. Mine didn't show the shipping thing until I printed it out. Half of it was just the packing slip, and the other half of the page is the shipping tag. Either that or everything is really screwed up for you!
robert.harrisMassdrop got back to me and it looks that since I am outside of the contiguous United States I will have to pay for the shipment up-front and they will reimburse me afterwards. So at a least I have that going for me. Wish you luck with this whole situation.
