CarvajalDo you like it? Would you recommend it over the 23mm? Which body do you use?

BablatI fucking love this lens, it's my walking around lens on my x-t2. It's actually my only lens right now because I've only had the x-t2 for a few weeks after I moved on from my X100S. It's so nice to have a modern lens made out of actual metal. If you like a wider lens that I think you could go with the 23mm WR. You're getting the same f2 and stellar construction, and the same quick auto focus. The 35 is generally cheaper (which is why I have it) but I don't think you could go wrong with either.
In my head I keep thinking someday I'll get the XF 16mm F1.4 R WR so that's where I want to jump in when I get a wide lens. My next lens will probably be the 18-135mm WR zoom because I want to do a lot of outdoor nature photography.

CarvajalThanks for taking the time to respond.
I'm switching from a Cannon full blown DSLR to something I can actually carry around more often. I was expecting the 35mm to be a bit too narrow for street photography.
On your X100 you have a 23mm, correct? If so, which one do you think would he a better for for casual street photography? What do you usually shoot?

BablatIf you're going street I'm gonna assume you're interested in an X100T or the X-Pro2 (I'm not convinced it's worth getting an X100F over the T right now). I loved my X100S but the lack of weather resistance kept it in my bag a lot when I wanted it in my hand (at waterfalls etc). I bought the X-T2 thinking I would have both but the X-T2 is also amazing and much smaller than I thought it would be. I decided to not leave the X100S on my shelf so I sold it.
My friend has the X100T and it's fantastic, in fact he's going to use it and my X-T2 to shoot my wedding this May. Now I love the X-T2 but knowing everything I know now about it I kind of wish I went with the X-Pro2 for the OVF feel. But because I want to do Nature stuff I really am happy with the X-T2 because the EVF on it is awesome.
Frankly, rent a X-Pro2 with the 23mm lens and play around with it. If you want street I can't imagine much better.

CarvajalThanks,
I am actually thinking of the X-E2S. Cheap, interchangeable, light, and while not WR, people say it's well constructed and "mostly" sealed.

BablatI mean at that point then the new X-T20 or a used X-T1 should also be on your list. Hell of a lot of deals on X-T1s right now.

CarvajalHave you used the 18mm pancake lens at all? Any thoughts on it, as compared to the 23mm?

CarvajalI ended up getting the X100F and I'm in love, it's exactly what I was after (although I agree I'd love for it to be WR). Just wanted to pop in and thank you kind stranger for taking the time to comment, I would have gotten the X-E2S otherwise and regretted it as the X100F launched.
