i've had this for 3 years, and it still works..............about 90% of the time. sometimes it starts to give a very loud ping that won't go away until i unplug the USB cable. started happening after about 2 years of ownership.
i paid $90 3 years ago on a sale in amazon.
Here's my personal review on this:
PROS:
-one of the best quality mics i've used, very convenient to slide up or down. everyone can hear me clearly. -you can mess around with sound profiles if that's your thing -Very good for the price, considering that it is wireless -feels confortable enough for me to wear them on long gaming sessions -emulated surround sound, it works
Cons:
-DO NOT EXPECT any sound quality whatsoever out of these. these are clearly "gaming" headsets, not audiophile. get a sennheiser 600/650 for that. -Earcup covers will start to rip after about 1 year or so of everyday use -it does not turn on on the first try.....EVER. always have to press and hold the power button TWICE. maybe it's just my unit. -moderatelly high rate of failure, not exactly quality headphones. mine has the issue of a LOUD ping that i cannot remove unless i completelly remove usb and plug back again.
again, considering that it is wireless and a gaming headset, at less than $100, this thing is worth every penny.
want to get a headset with good quality sound?
then look elsewhere:
atx m50x for BASS heads sennheiser hd598 for entry level audiophile <--very good for the price Sennheiser hd600/650 <---this will give your ears an orgasm if paired with a decent amp
and possibilities are endless on top of the 3 i mentioned, since PRICE is the limit.
