As a Garmin watch owner (Forerunner, not Fenix), I can't advise buying any of their products. Don't get me wrong, hardware is awesome. Reliable, long lasting battery, rugged and overall well engineered. Software on the other part is the disappointing element. Basically the moment new model in same line of watches comes out you can forget about software update for yours. In my case this was some 6 months after purchasing.
Support was also atrocious. My watch at some point freaked out and created activity file which caused the whole watch to constantly keep crashing and rebooting. I managed to collect the data, extracted the file, prepared a detailed bug report and sent it to Garmin to which they replied "just do a factory reset".
Take what you will from my experience, but these watches cost as much as any other smart watch with poor software and dreadful manufacturer support. I am not, however, an isolated case. Internet is filled with stories of ruined marathon runs where Garmin just decided to not work. I guess they were unable to do factory reset during the run.
Oh, also, you can forget about these watches being integrated with anything else. At some point I wanted to integrate tool I made with their API and gave up because they lock access to their Garmin Connect. Developers have to pay 5000$ fee to access API and documentation. Something that every other company gives away from free.
