You don't need a $120 or even a $65 non-stick pan. They only last a few short years before they need to be replaced.
Its worth spending money on tri-ply pans or dutch ovens. If you need a non-stick, run down to Walmart or Target and get one just as valuable as this for $15.

Hey has anyone had experience with these pans and their customer service? There are so many bad reviews and people saying the company doesn't keep their warranty promises and blame the customer for not taking care of their cookware http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews128299.html
MikaeleHi Mikaele, Thank you for your interest in Gastrolux. Our pans outlast any other currently in the market. If we receive a customer claim we immediately ask for pictures of the inside and outside of the pan. This will tell us if the pan has been used and cared for according to instructions. If we can see the pan has been misused/abused (lack of proper cleaning after use and/or over-heated) then we dismiss the claim. When this happens most customers purchase a new pan and commit to taking better care of it. A few customers run to an online forum and say the pan is of bad quality, etc. and refuse any responsibility as to how the pan was cared for. We offer lifetime warranty on manufacturing errors or defects in material, etc., but just like you can't drive your car off the cliff and take it back to the dealership and demand a new one then sometimes we have to say no to claims. Most customers are fair and reasonable, a few aren't. We just know that we make all our pans the exact same way, but how you use and take care of it varies from customer to customer. That is reflected in the joy and perceived value of the pan also. Hope this helps! Thank you, Johan info@gastrolux-cookware.com / 770-989-1048 (M-F: 9am-6pm EST) www.gastrolux-cookware.com

JohanmjThank you very much for the lengthly reply! Gives me a bit more confidence hahaa! Have a great day!
We recently threw away all our old pans that had 'non-stick' surfaces. Went with a simple 12" Al-clad frying pan, a 2 quart 3-ply pot, a large cast-iron post and a dutch oven. I know four pieces (all with lids) from 4 different manufactures, but these four piece cover 90+% of our needs and had we bought them when we were young, would have lasted a life time. I guess we've spent 4x more on 'disposable', less well performing and possibly hazardous pans in the past. These four pots/pans have us covered, live long and prosper!

The generic Use & Care directions at https://www.gastrolux-cookware.com/pages/care-maintenance say, "Do not use dishwasher. Wash by hand in warm water and mild detergent after each use." Anyone know whether this means before or after the pan has cooled down after cooking? That would be a big time-saver if one can wash it while it's still hot.

That's awesome! Can anyone vouch that @Johanmj is actually a rep from Gastrolux? I'd have thought he'd have some special badge next to his name or something. Not that I'm doubting you, but doesn't hurt to check ;-) I'd call the number you provided, but the drop will be over before business hours open.
nukeHello Nuke, I guess the drop has ended, but you can always contact me at johan@gastrolux-cooware.com or 770-989-1048. You'll love your Gastrolux pans. Happy Memorial Day! Thank you, Johan

Steep price! I think I'd rather just cook with oil.

zoomorphHow much oil are people cooking with that they think using a pan like this without oil is healthier?
Only cook without butter, fat and oil if you want to always feel like something is missing. Leave the salt out while you're at it! :P

PFOA- and PFOS-free for those interested. There aren't a lot of reviews out there for this product but the savings over msrp seem mostly legit.

Can you explain the difference for me?

BalizzmThe induction version of the pan is made to support induction cooktops, which use magnetic induction to heat the pan instead of resistive electrical coils or natural gas. They're pretty darn cool, and there are countertop stoves available on Amazon for about $60.
