Not worth it! 5 prerelease kits times 5 boosters is 25 total at this price. Gatecrash booster BOXES with 36 boosters are going for 79.99 on tcgplayer. So where are you getting your money's worth? With the boosterbox you have more cards to draft with.

Alex1514I think the point is exclusivity...and did you read the description? These aren't just boosters...these have exclusive boxes, with limited edition dice(:P), preseeded boosters in each set, a welcome letter, an activity insert, and alternative art promo cards. It's only 5 dollars more for all of those, and while there are 11 boosters less total, the boxes, dice, 5 preseeded booster packs, welcome letter, activity insert, and alternative art promo cards are the main selling point. Also, I haven't seen these kits available anywhere else...so even more to the price.

Arker_1Let me rephrase. Gatecrash Booster box is at 80 bucks for 36 packs, bringing pack value to $2.23, which also means that the total value in these prerelease kits for just packs is $55.75.
The prices for these foil promo cards WITH SHIPPING on tcgplayer right now cost $0.37 for Treasury Thrull, $0.21 for Foundry Champion, $0.41 for Rubblehulk, $1.07 for Fathom Mage, and $3.37 for Consuming Aberration.
This means you are spending $23.82 on pretty cardboard boxes, 5 plastic dice, 2 copies of the same piece of paper that you can get a PDF of online 5 times, and 5 stacks of guild specific commons, uncommons and rares worth 25-50 cents.
With a BOOSTER BOX you have more cards to have fun drafting with your friends AND not limit yourself to playing with 4 other people either. And some of us like to save money while we're at it.

Alex1514Most of us are in this for the exclusivity, and you are forgetting the fact that these don't seem to be available for order anywhere else as of right now. Also the activity insert is like totally worth 15$ dude :P

Alex1514Another aspect you might be missing is that some players like to hold sealed events with friends. Pre-release kits are a fun way to do that.
Also, these kits typically cost $25 each when run at the shop. Granted, many shops charge less than that (I typically pay $22 for pre-releases at my LGS).
