From the creator of the penny-sized keychain bottle opener, the Pry.Me, comes the EverRatchet. It gets its name from the dynamic ratcheting beam, which means you don't need to lift and reset the tool between each turn Read More
michaelh73Hi Michael, we got the goods out the door the day after the drop finished up and they were shipped from PA to NJ. I am sure it takes then a few days to sort the parts out prior to getting them out. I would follow up with customer service if/once it seems like there's an issue, they are an extremely helpful group. Hope it gets shipped out soon!
TwitchySquirrelAs of now we only have this size but that has been requested. It would have more static wrenches and of course the patent pending ratchet. Would you want the 1/4" ratchet or would you be looking for a bigger ratchet opening? Cheers!
GearInfusionI think the quarter inch just because of the number of bit drivers that come standard in 1/4." It would be nice to have an adapter to use other size ratcheting tools though. Just a thought.
As a materials engineer I am commenting on some of the comments here of titanium vs. stainless steel. In a simple pull test titanium per unit of weight is stronger than steel but steel is more durable against scratches, etc. In something that is going to get handled a lot I would prefer stainless way over titanium. A tool like this which needs durability at the contact points I would choose steel over titanium. It is for this reason that knife blades are not made out of titanium.
Spokes30True. Many titanium alloys are very brittle and not well suited to applications where it will be stressed at very small points, such as using it for a wrench of this size. It also can not be hardened to the same degree as steel. It is a great material for structural parts in an aircraft or spacecraft. Not so good as a wrench. Titanium nitride coatings on things like drill bits or screwdriver bits or cutting blades are very effective, but that is microns thick with a suitable base metal.
Will this pass through a TSA checkpoint? I realize gearinfusion.com says that, without the flint, the tools is TSA compliant. Just wondering about folks' real-world experiences.
AUTigerFanYes this is TSA compliant with the provided #2 bit or any other standard 1" bit. I have taken mine on about 10x flights attached to my car keys which go exposed in the security checkpoint trays. Additionally we have not gotten any feedback from the community who has had these since September 18'.
I know you mentioned this, sorry just need to repeat it in my response: The tool is NOT TSA compliant if you are carrying the Flint2Go flint in the tool.
LMN1TJD131-The difference is significant if you have one in each hand and compare the weight...that being said, both are extremely light, the stainless is 0.86 oz and the titanium is 0.57 oz.
-The titanium will offer more robustness over the stainless because of the elevated material properties.
-Some people prefer the more premium titanium material over the stainless just because it is a more unique material
Hope this helps, Cheers!
SteamAddendum - This little tool is terrific. Extremely durable and the ratchet works flawlessly. A large Allen key extends the overall length to apply more torque. Love this little multi tool. Thanks!
I got this during its crowdfunding phase. The ratchet really works. It’s quite clever. Not sure the titanium adds anything functional (got the SS version too but gave it as a gift. ). Overall very pleased
damnit I JUST bought one of these last week off amazon
oh well, maybe the 2 day shipping would have been worth it compared to $5 in savings but almost a month in shipping
