I think the issue of how LH labs run things is largely irrelevant here. As we are dealing with Massdrop here and they do try their best to fix any issues their customers have. If there is an issue, Massdrop will replace it.
This is a great DAC/Amp and has received numerous positive reviews. Its compact in size and powerful enough to drive most headphones with good sound. Its also process DSD which is a big feature at this price. You can't decline that this is a very portable swiss army audio device for a relatively low price.
Other than commenting on the customer service side of things by the company, more importantly is how well this little device works. E.g. someone mentioned that it heats up and may damage the device in a long run. someone mentioned its too heavy to hold on usb port and may need extention. if it works with certain headphones. how well is the built quality etc.
Personally I'd like to see more constructive comments on the product itself.. I've heard lots of good things about the Geek out on headfi a while back. and now its being offered at backers price.. but if it doesn't work as well as it is expected to.. then it may be a deal breaker for me and for most people. On the contrary, if it works well.. who gives a shit about their company, shipping time, customer services etc ?
lets see some long term reports from people who had experience with this magical device.

sanibuyBecause we are dealing with Massdrop has nothing to do with the quality of product. So should Massdrop order twice as many pieces to hopefully support all of the returns? That makes sense

DeleteI don't think the quality of this product was ever questioned. It might get hot, but that's simply relative to what a person thinks is hot, not what components are capable of tolerating, while still remaining usable for years.

DeleteWhether or not to order twice as many for replacement is Massdrop's problem to worry about. If what they are selling is totally crap and breaks in a month then yeah.. but I presume they've come so far by not doing that..
I meant to say that how LH labs run their business,, run their crowdfunded campaigns, customer service, email response rate.. etc.. has nothing to do with the product they produce. If its a good quality product.. thats all I care about.. (if you don't agree, thats fine).. but I only wanna know more about how good/bad the GO1000 is.
If its malfunctioning, its as simple as return it back to Massdrop or get a replacement.

AlikI had one for a decent amount of time, and the only reason I sold was because of the Audio-GD NFB 28 which is fully balanced was a more powerful amplifier and a fantastic DAC. Next the NFB28 the GO 1000 was my favorite all in one unit for under 500$, I ended up keeping it over the Alo Pan Am, ODAC/02, etc. But it does get hot, being a class A, and I actually had a aluminum brick about the same width and length with a puddy I used to stick to the back and rest the GO1000 onto the brick. It kept it cool, but it was only because I had the makeshift heat sink, it is not needed for the most part.

sanibuyHonestly, I could care less what you spend your money on. Not my problem. I'm just saying that LH labs is a horror show. They have at least 4 campaigns going right now. They can't keep up with current orders, manufacturing and customer service is suffering from it. They keep putting out products hoping to get past their goals so they can keep the income coming in. It's a ponzi/pyramid scam. The way that they handle the issues that their "investors" are having is embarassing. Buy their stuff, doesn't bother me. I just wouldn't support a company that doesn't support their customers. Good luck
DeleteHi Delete,
We don't currently have any campaigns running right now. As far as delivering product goes, we're currently fulfilling all orders for the Pulse campaign and will be moving forward with the orders on Wave & Vi DAC in the coming months.
Thanks again for your feedback.
Best regards,
Casey Hartwell

CaseyHartwellCan you explain what happened with the GO 450 shipping for the other drop? I don't want the samething happening here.

AlikWhat issues are you referring to? I realize it's a long thread over there, but I didn't see much in the way of problems with that drop.

DieselCheck the end of the 450 thread. People have more than one shipped to thrm, some have only one when they ordered two.

Alikthat would be massdrop's mistake as most products are shipped by massdrop

sanibuyTrue, but someone said that on this case they were drop shipped by the vendor.
AlikWasn't sure what issues you were referencing until l read more into it. MD provided us with the shipment list and we simply printed the label and shipped from our facility. Whatever labels they provided were the ones we used. We're working with MD to find out why they submitted double shipments and shorted others.

CaseyHartwellThe following statement is in the description for GO 450 and GO 1000.. Maybe massdrop should change that if that's not the case.
Domestic and international orders will be shipped by Massdrop.

CaseyHartwellyou don't? They're all fulfilled? If they are, my apologies. Because the funding is over doesn't mean the campaign is over, not until all are fulfilled
