it says it can't be used with smd leds, but it's a clear housing. Can these still work with smd?
delet_d
If the SMD LED is under the PCB, it can work. If it's on PCB, it's not possible.
are these as smooth as tealios?

amazing
What are the springs that are used in the switches? Barry didn't know and I was curious; they're quite nice.
hi, here is GeekMaker, if you have any questions, ask me

No, they are same mould
Sorry for the late reply, it is not very convenient to login MD in China
RRP is bullshit. These have only ever been available cheaper than Massdrop sale price, let alone "RRP". example: https://play-keyboard.store/collections/group-buys/products/creamy-switches-geekmaker?variant=18636488278134
ferretallica
That was a group buy. It's $43.50 now
Totally Not Tealios
VootCaboot
Not Tealio price either, so works for me.
But just how creamy are these without an action clip?
Will these work with the Massdrop CTRL?
Caalyx
Yes.
damn this new massdrop layout sucks so much.
olitender
I was just thinking that! I don't think there's any benefit...the old layout was seriously just fine.
Wish I could get my hands on a sampler pack.
Should the 'bottom out force' numbers actually refer to activation force? Otherwise these switches are quite light.

facetious
honestly I really doubt it since zealio lists their forces as bottom out and these are copies of theirs. And other site has these switch listed as bottom out as well.
facetious
This is a good point. I'd like clarification on this as well.
So these are all linear? Which is the closest in weight the Cherry MX Black? (And is there a comparison page for weight somewhere since different manufacturers use different systems?)

Cherry Reds bottom out around 55g so one of the middle weights of these switches would probably be ideal for what you're looking for
The 62g bottom out would be a bit heavier than the ~55g of reds, which would likely be a comfy step higher, without being too heavy.
Anyone have a review on these? Are they actually better than black linear switches, especially vintage Cherry mx blacks?

https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/a16ca8/switch_spotting_geekmaker_cream_switch_rgb_linear/ A couple people here say they are similar to tealios Also topclack did a initial review of them(twitch and YouTube video links in this Reddit post): https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/9zttyq/top_clack_builds_starting_to_530pm_pt/
Poblopuablo
I noted that in Top Clack's video, he states that there's a weird rattle on the switch when moving the keycap around without pressing down. I think it's about 3:10:00 or so into the video. He thinks it's the leaf, and he states "something's definitely off there" "...definitely strange".
Pricing for 110 is insane.... +$110. If you want them sooner, KPrepublic has them in stock. https://kprepublic.com/products/geekmaker-cream-switch-rgb-purple-yellow-pink-cyan-mx-stem-with-transparent-clear-housing-for-mechanical-keyboard-5pin 5.90 for 10 Extended prices: 41.30 for 70 ($1.31 more than massdrop) 53.10 for 90 ($3.11 more than massdrop) 64.90 for 110 ( $89.09 LESS than massdrop.... Due to initial pricing error mentioned above)

Yes, that is quite a bit more! I spit my coffee out when I saw that typo.
typo! we'll get that fixed. thanks guys hahaha
I wonder about GeekMaker's reputation... Anybody has any clues? Or are they new to the industry?
ealiagach
They ran the F62PE group buy on Geekhack.
ealiagach
They've previously only run Keyboard GBs, most notably the CA66.
