A "universal" veg peeler while selling different models for different things? To me looks like a very awkward and uncomfortable handle. Suggestion, IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL $4.99 US

It's a good peeler. It will become dull after 600 potatoes (or equivalent) and you will throw it away for another good peeler. There is no better solution and peelers have been peeling for a long time. I like mine b/c it has an appropriately low profile and doesn't create drama in my kitchen drawer. It is neither peels better, faster or more completely than any other new peeler but it is a worth-while product at the right price.

I've been wanting a good SS peeler. The problem is finding one that is comfortable for big hands. I typically wear XL when it comes to gloves. Would any of you that own the universal peeler with big hands be able to comment on the comfort?

Is the vegetable and cheese peeler easy to clean by hand? Is it easier than a knife to use on cheese? Is the slice thickness adjustable?

MountainPassTo answer my own questions: It's not difficult to clean by hand, but it's not easy, either. It is easier than a knife to use on cheese. The slice thickness is not adjustable. Slice thickness is fixed at about 1.6 mm.

ksb729Click "Join Drop", then "Add a new address". Select the destination country from the list, and the shipping charge on that page should update. You can also change the order quantity and watch the shipping charge update. It's $2.75 for one of these to the USA.

A good alternative to this is the OXO Grip Grips Pro Y peeler. Currently 12.99 W/ prime on amazon so about the same price. Haven't handled the GEFU, but I've owned 2 OXOs now and can report the handle is decently ergonomic, I feel much safer using a Y peeler then a swivel peeler, it comes sharp enough to fly through any peeling job like it isn't there and edge retention seems decent (Got a new one recent, going through peels is less effort then a hot knife through butter, ~4 year old one still works extremely well).

NaftoorThe problem with the OXO is they aren't nearly as sharp and they peel off too much of the skin. You should try these GEFU the next time you can get the universal one. It's like butter compared to the rest I've ever tried.

kitINstLOUISI'll certainly have to give them a shot if I ever get the chance! When we upgraded to the OXOs it was from some ancient dull peeler from the 90s, so it was essentially a light saber by comparison but it definitely makes me interested in doing a head-to-head now!

Are the blades replaceable and/or can you sharpen them?

SeannevesShort answer: No and not really.
Long answer:
You could possibly replace the blade if you could find someone to sell you a new one, but they're not intended to be replaceable and I doubt anyone sells them so it would probably be a lot easier and cheaper to just buy a whole new peeler.
Technically it should be possible to resharpen the blade, I guess you'd need a very thin slip stone or mini diamond plate. I can't imagine it would be much fun though.
As long as you don't abuse the peeler it should last a very long time before you'd need to start thinking about resharpening it. Unlike a knife the blade won't get banged around and twisted on a cutting board and should stay sharp almost indefinitely if only used on soft produce.
Just remember to rinse it immediately after use so food isn't left to dry on the blade.

Asianguy38They use super-cheap DHL-Global for international shipping, so it may take a month or more. From the tracking route, I assumed one of my packages went on a ship instead of plane.

ToxicNo it not that slow. Even the item Javelin Pro which was sent out on Dec 19, 2017 through DHL-Global was received yesterday. I have made 14 transactions from Massdrop in the past year and this is the first time, an item has failed delivery.
And this item was shipped out on 4 December 2017. When I called up to the local DHL Customer Service here in Malaysia, she advised me to contact the supplier about the non-delivery for the supplier to further check with DHL. She said it should not be more than 2weeks for an item to be delivered.
So I really like to know the procedure to initiate a refund or resend Thanks
