I'm really dissapointed in this product. Each tool has a lock that prevents it from being pushed back down when in use, which is great in theory, but the design on this one make it really difficult to press down to that point that its actually dangerous to do with the open blade.. Also the tools don't lock into place well either. Oh and the blades are made out of some shitty cheap metal that looks and feels almost like plastic.. I'd say don't cheap out and just pay a bit more for a leatherman.. This was really not worth that money.

Hey guys,
We just double checked with our vendor, and it appears for some reason USPS didn't pick up the shipment as they were suppose to. And that's why the tracking hasn't been showing any update.
Our vendor confirmed that USPS picked up the package yesterday, so all the shipments should be within USPS' system now.
So much for 1 week ahead of schedule...

Has anyone else had their shipping status update from Electronic shipping info received? I can't imagine it would take 7 days for them to get them to the post office from their warehouse.

Hey everyone, We have just submitted our order of over 90 Gerber Suspension Butterfly Opening Multi-Plier with our vendor. Massdrop is a platform that helps members within the community shop together at wholesale pricing. It’s pretty incredible that we managed to get 80 people within the 7 days this drop had been active. Now that the bulk order has been placed, our vendor is preparing the order for shipment. We are just waiting for confirmation on the shipment schedule from our vendor now, we will be sure to update again here once that’s available. Cheers!

Knife collector here - Gerbers are made for very light duty. If you're planning on opening boxes or screwing in a few loose nails, these will do the trick. However, in most knife circles, Gerbers are regarded as crap knives. They use a "mystery" 425M steel which is very soft, causing it to dent and lose its edge very quickly - if you're a religious sharpener, this won't be an issue, but for everyone else, the factory edge will probably be dull within a few months of light use. This also means that the pliers' teeth will get marred very quickly. Gerbers are also notorious for developing lots of play - side-to-side wobble. Also, sometimes the locking mechanisms don't lock. I believe the China vs. Taiwan suggestions are due to the Chinese versions having random steel faults which resulted in lots of Gerbers simply breaking. Handles, blades, pliers, everything.
TL;DR: You get what you pay for with Gerber. In most knife circles, they're considered one step up from "mall ninja" gear. If you absolutely need a multi-tool, go Leatherman. If you need an EDC blade at this price, check out Kershaw.

According to the reviews on Amazon you want the Gerber that is made in Taiwan, not China. The overall quality is better on the ones made in Taiwan.
