The mining craze is over just because you can buy one? I got a 1080 about a year ago for $460, $200 cheaper than this.

usenameAll MSRP's are higher now due to increased demand. The last few months MSRP for a 1080 jumped to about $620 if you can get one before the scalpers. All of the drops on here, and all of the restocks on other sites in the last month have sold out within a few minutes, that's why everyone is shocked.

zzzaacchhThat is factually incorrect. MSRP is from the manufacturer. Inflated prices are from people taking advantage of the shortage. MSRP has not changed.

YesItStillWorksI was referring to EVGA's pricing, they're the only one I could find that sells direct, but I imagine the others would have the same pricing. I understand that ultimately they are NVIDIA products, and I also understand that NVIDIA has kept their pricing the same, but I would not consider NVIDIA the manufacturer of EVGA, ASUS, MSI, or Gigabyte cards.

zzzaacchhEVGA is the only one that has raised their MSRP. But they don't attribute it to mining demand. It is due to the global RAM shortage. Either way "ALL" MSRPs are not higher because of increased demand, or any reason...99% are still the same MSRP.
