Worst time to buy a video card IMO. Another month, and they are announcing the new line. The new GTX 1180 will much faster than this for a similar price. Soon Ti's will be this price.

OIC. They are going to release slower cards, and fill in the 10 series with 11 series slower cards. Yeah/no that's not gonna happen. They will be faster. You can already find 1080 Ti's for this price.
why would they make a new line... slower lmfao?{?
Why does The Crew 2 code have regional requirements? On the overview page the only mention of the crew is " All drop participants will qualify to receive a Crew 2 gaming code" no mention of regional requirements.
Spooks
Don't stress it so much, it's very easy to activate the code through any vpn using servers in the US.
Yo Massdrop, I ask for my money back, you put off replying, then the day after I ask for the refund I’m told it has been shipped???? What is going on!

What do you mean it was not eligible for cancellation? We were told that we would be able to cancel up until the product was ready for shipment? I'm just a bit confused here, could you please clarify what was meant?
That_Kiwi_Guy
The product had already been recieved at our 3PL in inventory, then pull, prepped, sorted, and ready to ship before your request was recieved. As mentioned your request came in just hours before the product actually left our 3PL. It was not eligiable at that time for cancelation.
Is the warranty valid in Singapore? I am really interested.
Aehale1506
No. This is a US product and Gygabyte is notoriously difficult with RMAs even in the US, outside the US, they won't lift a finger to help you and reject any claims.
520 on the worlds largest e-tailer without 3-4 week shipping delay. Skipping. Thanks.
will it support a touchscreen monitor
rplauffer
wtf
rplauffer
Touchscreen monitor typically will use a USB interface to pass touch sensor information to the computer, videocard is not involved in the process as ALL.
This is not a good deal, not only can you find this price in other places, but by the time this ships, you'll be able to find a better one easily. Everyone knows GFX card prices are in the crapper because of miners, but if you can't make an actual deal, don't put the drop up.

20 dollars more is basically the same price for most people who are not budget tight. People don't want to wait for 3-4 weeks for a card they need/want now. So, for most, this will not be a good deal.
You should not forget that this is not $499.99 NOW, this $499.99 a month (or likely more with your delays) from now, by that time Nvidia might already announce next gen and this gen videocards will be on clearance EVERYWHERE.
At this point this is a bad deal. The price should come down significantly because it will by the time it ships with traditional MD delays as nvidia will already announce the 11 series 🙄
why so delaying ???? somebody tell me why! where should I ask when its come?
marobono
MD is not gonna tell you why. You just have to decide if you still want it or just demand the money back😉
So, you've run into an unexpected delay, and you choose to tell us about it now? I appreciate you're offering money back, but what if people still want this, what is being done?
delay.....
Today is the estimated shipping day that I have, is there any update?
That_Kiwi_Guy
Been waiting since a month! Got an email couple of days ago with the Crew 2 code but no sign of shipment!
SmurfDota

Sold and Shipped by: Newegg
  • $469.99
  • $459.99 after $10.00 rebate card
This is the same price as its Newegg version
Horrible deal. This exact same card is 529.00 at newegg, and right now they have a 30$ rebate. So not only do you get it for the same price of 499.99 but you also get it today, not next month! Come on Massdrop!!! https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125880&cm_re=gtx_1080-_-14-125-880-_-Product

Only you did not deliver the first week of July, did you? Misleading customers to make a sale much? 😒
Zetto
I do not try to mislead but sometimes I feel misunderstood - All the orders shipped out July 6th.
Ayyy, now this is a deal! I bought this same card a couple months back as the crypto currency gold rush was winding down at around ~$600. We getting down to "right pricing" on the GPUs (except the GTX 1080 TI's), so things are looking up for PC gamers. Good job, MD!
I have this card (probably before they added the rgb top though) and bought it for a similar price about a year ago. This card is Biiig. 280mm is up there with some of the longest cards available outside of the 300+mm monsters. There is also an issue where the heat shroud sometimes expands under heavy load or in certain games due to the heat generated - making contact with the fan as it spins making this awful ticking noise.
If you are not in or like small form factor pc's, this is a really - really good price for this card.
DO NOT BUY GIGABYTE PRODUCTS. They are as cheap as they come. I had a gigabyte laptop for a few months before it crashed. I sent it in 3!!!! times taking 3 weeks each time and costing me the shipping cost. When I got it back each time, it would work for about 10 minutes before dying again. I have never had worse customer service. If you are going to spend this much money on an important piece of your PC, I implore you not to buy it from this company.

We as consumers don't choose to hate a company. I didn't want my Gigabyte P55w to fail within three months of purchase. I didn't ask for the first repair center to hold on to my laptop for over a month before returning it (by demand).
What choices were made? The second Gigabyte Authorized Repair center choose to repeat the same service nightmare that the first had. As did the third center choose to return my laptop, telling me that there was nothing wrong.
Gigabyte's customer service rep Nellie choose to not respond to my email (the amazing thing is someone finally fucking replied to a 9-month old email after I complained on enough forums about their shitty products - lo and behold).
No, Gigabyte, I don't choose to hate you. I choose not to buy your products. I choose to complain mercilessly so that every other consumer out there can avoid the massive headache that your products guarantee, as it's the only thing that seems to ostensibly be covered by your bullshit 2-year world-wide warranty.
nvidia said no new consumer-grade gpus would be out for this year, so this is a good offer IMO.
What is this black magic? A GPU at original MSRP?
the prices are getting better, but maybe try getting better options
Question is if its worth jumping on this deal or wait and see whats up with the market. With the dropping prices everywhere - maybe this is one of the many price deops we gonna see

Not sure next gen is coming any time soon. I've seen quite a few articles saying it could be another year or two. But of course, this is all speculation!
" We’ve been waiting for Nvidia to make an announcement for a while, and Nvidia seems content to make us wait. Most recently, we were expecting Nvidia to hint at Turing at Computex 2018, but Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said we’d be waiting a ‘long time’.  "

You definitely have a good point.
Does this qualify for the $30 Gigabyte Mail-In rebate? i.e. Is Massdrop an authorized reseller?
SmurfDota
No massdrop handles all of the shipping and such
Hey I'm thinking of joining this drop but I was wondering; how long will shipping take to Singapore?
Had this card for 2 years now. Had some slight coil whine out of the box but it seems to have gone away. She's still chugging along. $499 is a pretty good price considering it was inflated by ~%35 not too long ago.
I personally will never again buy a Gigabyte product after they slogged me through the mud with their terrible customer service.
I will also take any chance to tell others about this. My laptop sat in THREE different Gigabyte Authorized Repair centers for over a month [each] despite an obviously dysfunctional keyboard and a bad motherboard.
I eventually just fixed the keyboard myself (by the way, try ordering a new Gigabyte p55 keyboard online and be shocked by the price) only for more problems to crop up. Of the two year lifespan of Gigabyte's Global Warranty, the laptop sat on the shelf in various repair centers for a total of 9 months. Often they would refuse to acknowledge the problem despite video recordings to the contrary.
Corporate obviously does not care about their image and does not push their 'Authorized' repair centers to fulfill any standard.
Gigabyte products are cheap for a reason.
Wurdle
bro, I literally had the exact same thing happen to my gigabyte laptop. My Laptop crashed and I sent it in 3X times and after I got it back after a couple weeks each time, it would work for about 10 minutes and then shit itself again. DO NOT BUY GIGABYTE PRODUCTS THEY ARE CHEAP FOR A VERY BAD REASON.
oogityboogity
Do not buy Gigabyte. Amen my brother.
