Hi,
I just got my brix (the i7), but I have a strange issue. When I put 2x8Gb RAM, the brix does not boot at all. It powers up and can shut down (long press on power button), but nothing more. If I fill only 1 slot (the top one), the brix works well. If I fill the bottom slot, it does not start. I bought 2 brix, same behavior on both, tested each 4 RAM pieces on all possible combinations. RAM is Corsair Vengeance SO-DIMM 16 Go (2 x 8 Go) DDR3L 1600 MHz CL9 HDD is Kingston SSDNow M.2 SATA G2 240 Go Both are not in the Gigabyte compatiblity list, but it works when only 1 slot of RAM is filled. (I installed Win10x64)
Any idea what is going wrong ?
I wrote to gigabyte's support, no answer yet.

I'm sure there's an update inbound, but potential buyers should be aware of this - http://www.securityweek.com/uefi-vulnerabilities-found-gigabyte-mini-pcs

I would say Intel NUC with DDR4 is better.

I have been holding off on another NUC until the NUC7i7BNH hits the market. Still, neat to see this here at MD.

16 gigs of RAM? Wow, that would run, ehm, a Screensaver. Might as well buy a Raspberry if I want to go nutless

The i5 model is available at Amazon for only $15 more: http://amzn.to/2lED2yF . If you have prime, then it's only $4.50 more and you'll have it in two days instead of waiting around for Massdrop.
