Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Thank you for your participation in these discussions. Your responses have earned me as a fan, and I will look forward to supporting you in the future. However, regarding this drop: I don't enjoy the actual keycaps, nor do I find the price point reasonable. You address issues with the cost in your post, but I think you're missing a very big point: It is significantly less difficult selling more caps at $25-30, than it is fewer caps at $45-50. If you require a larger MOQ for the lower price, then it makes sense to shoot for the larger MOQ at a lower price point when you'll be selling more for less.
While I see the incredible craftsmanship that went into producing this cap, I unfortunately just don't like the design (too bulky, too tall, I definitely didn't see an scv, and I wouldn't want an scv on my board anyway).
I will keep my eyes out for your drops in the future though! Good luck!
