I recently ordered one to use while waiting for the Massdrop CTRL keyboard. Overall, I couldn't recommend this keyboard to anyone. The keyboard did not work out of the box. Certain keys didn't work or sent the wrong scan code to the OS. I had to get an RMA. I also had the Num Lock issue that others are talking about on the original board. I think their QC is lacking.

fer.realHm....I haven't had any issues with mine at all. Did you download the latest software for it?
psicloneYeah I had the right version of the software. The issue was defective electronics.
I had to download a different version of the software/firmware with the replacement board because the serial numbers were different. Another hassle.

psicloneWith shipping costs and delays I agree, but it's hard to find this board and custom switches for less. If the shipping costs weren't in play, it would be a deal.

fer.realThat's super weird. The different serial numbers are based on different years of models. Did you buy yours from their website or amazon? If it started with a 2017 then that was either an early 2017 or mid 2017 model (201701 or 201708). If it had a 2016 then it was the original first year run. Any 2018 is the new model which I assume has a different pcb and would explain the need for a different software, or they have a different version based on TKL vs FS, since one has more keys. Did your serial number start with a 2018?
bhgemini I bought it from the GMMK website.  The original board was from 201801 and the replacement board was from 201701.  At first I was annoyed that I got an older model, but at least it works. :P I can understand that different revisions may have different MCUs and require different firmware.  What's annoying is that you need to download a different version of the app for different versions of the keyboard to control the LEDs and set macros. Also, it is Windows only.   As long as I'm on the subject of the app, it's pretty lackluster.  The button to turn off the backlighting  doesn't work.  The workaround is to set the backlight color to black.  There's an apply button, but it doesn't seem to do anything, as all of your changes are applied automatically.  Finally, the app doesn't scale, so it looks terrible on an hdpi display.  Fonts and icons are minuscule and various dialog windows overlap. It's barely legible on the screen of my Surface Book. I'm a software developer, so this irks me all the more.

fer.realTruth about the software. Very basic. I was hoping your story was that you had a 2017, and then got a 2018 as the replacement. That is totally BS getting the 2017 as a replacement for the 2018. Maybe people should off on buying until all of the old stock models are gone. I also wish they'd say what they did to change these 'polished' boards. What was actually done?
