EDIT : Ah I didn't know you can hot swap the switches, in that case It's rather cheap even if I were to buy myself a full set of Cherry MX switches. Since it's actually a modular board I have to take back what I said this is great then. Rather cheap as well even if you buy your own switches, but It of course adding in the caps be more costly, but I have ton of spare ones lying around lol....

A review for this board. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-tttABwLh4
Currently I'm not buying this keyboard and I doubt I would in future because of it using Geteron switches.... Make a Cherry MX version and WITHOUT RGB nonsense, and if it's available in future again I may actually consider it ! It's really a nice looking KB. But Gateron is the biggest deal breaker for me, along with the RGB rubbish. Imagine the KB can be sold so much cheaper without RGB or maybe just even it up by using Cherry MX instead by saving on the RGB nonsense....just my opinion. Then again there are still lots of KB choices out there my opinion could mean nothing.

gh0st47I can understand the RGB point, but this is a modular keyboard. You can always purchase the board without the gateron switches and put in Cherry MX switches yourself.

gh0st47You should read the description again: 1. The board is hotswappable so you can put in any kind of switch 2. There is a barebones version thats without the switches and keycaps. 3. Gateron switches are better than Cherry switches these days unless Cherrys are modded.

gh0st47You do know you can just put your own switches in this keyboard. It is designed so the switches can be quickly changed, it is one of the few keyboard I have found that has this feature and at a very good price too. And if you don't like RGB, don't turn them on.

gh0st47They do exactly what you're asking for. Go directly to the manufacturer.
Choose the $60 one without the switches and caps and put in what you like. You can turn off the RGB functionality by pressing Fn + Esc. Even with the RGB capability turned off, but still in there, it's cheaper than most mech keyboards that don't even offer hot-swap.

blakstealthWhich Switches I should buy if I want to, PCB mount or Plate mount ? I never actually buy switches before, but It's surprisingly cheap. I'm more interested in TKL, so about 100 switches be enough, and it only costs 5$ seriously ?!? https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_list&c=55

gh0st47From my understanding, the difference between the PCB mount and Plate mount is that the PCB mount switch has two molded prongs that help guide the switch into the PCB while the Plate mount doesn't have the prongs. Looking at the video and images, there aren't any holes that would accommodate the prongs for this keyboard, so I would get the plate mount switches. BUT, you can also very easily clip off the molded prongs if you decide to get that kind.

gh0st47You want plate mount, but even if you buy PCB mount, you can clip or file off the plastic stems on either side of the center post. Be sure not to damage the center post or the metal posts.
Here's a pick: http://i.imgur.com/QoIZaaR.jpg The two stems you want to clip off or file down are on the one on the left that appear on either side of the center plastic post. Also keep in mind that if you plan to use the lighting with it, you'll want the light to shine through the switch, so be sure to choose one that allows light to go through. If you want something that's quiet out of the box, then I suggest Aliaz switches. Otherwise, you might find you'll be modding your switches in some way. However, many people love the loud clacky stuff.

psicloneEDIT : Seems like I was mistaken, Plate Mount are actually more robust over PCB and more costly to manufacture too ! Interesting... https://support.wasdkeyboards.com/hc/en-us/articles/115009270628-Plate-Mounted-vs-PCB-Mounted-Switches
Ah I see what you mean, but since there is a plate mount ones I don't see any reason going for the PCB mount. But seems like PCB mount ones be more secure, that is if the KB support it. I didn't know there are different mounting lol. Never once bought a custom make KB before. Tks for the help. I never heard of Aliaz switches before, but on KBDFans it stated that it's manufactured by Gateron.

gh0st47You're misunderstanding the article you linked. "Plate provides a more robust keyboard, but increases production costs."
As in the metal plate itself, since PCB mounted switches don't require the plate and allow the board to just be a frame, PCB, switches, and caps. Omitting the plate reduces cost and changes feel.
Other than the two prongs on the bottom there is no difference between the construction of place mounted Cherry switches and PCB mounted Cherry switches.
