I had to return 44 mm Airman wit GMT due to GMT hand slipping and mal-aligning. I am scare to repeat same. Is Purist version without GMT is better than GMT version ? I am new to Glycine. TIA!

Joe-cool28Ask yourself if you can adapt to a 24 hour watch and whether you only ever need to track two timezones, If the answer to both is yes, then go for the purist. If you absolutely must track 3 timezones then get a GMT. And if you are looking for a GMT, then I'd look somewhere else, because imho, the main Glycine GMT dial is an unhappy mashup of numbering to accommodate the main 12 hour handset and the 24 hour GMT hand.
A proper, fully functional GMT watch should have a layout something like the attached (random image from the WWW)
1st timezone in 12 hour time from main handset on fully and clearly numbered main dial 2nd timezone in 24 hour time from the GMT hand, fully and clearly numbered on the outer edge of the main dial 3rd timezone in 24 hour time from the GMT hand via adjusting the outer bezel to set.
(I assume that the watch below is not properly functional as the GMT hand should be closer to the 14 as it's showing 10 minutes past the hour)

Mouse8459I do love GMT watches but I had bad experience with AIrman 44mm. ANd DC-4 is more vintage tribute as read, Purist version looked better. I am flexible with 24 hr setting and I do travel out of country at least once a year. Thank you for kind reply. Now, I am going for Purist version. Only if I can find leather strap for Glycine with Glycine buckle, Lol. I am pretty sure I will be schooled by band experts!

Joe-cool28It's standard 22mm, shouldn't be difficult to find. As for the buckle, you're getting one with the NATO, why paying premium for another Glycine band, except if you want "Glycine leather".

Joe-cool28Thanks for your response. I think the buckles are attached to the straps with a springbar, but you can always check with either Massdrop or Glycine direct. Therefore, as long as whatever strap you want to use has the same width as the Glycine supplied one and also has the buckle attached with a springbar, with the right tool and a bit of fiddling, you should be able to transfer the buckle.
As for me, I think the Airmen look best on a NATO, and that's what I have mine on. Beware - straps can be addictive!

EwenFRI was wandering if I can put metal bracelet or other type of band but thought it would be nice to have glycine buckle to it,lol. Bit of vanity to match watch and band.

Joe-cool28Matching buckle seems totally logical to me and it's pretty easy as long as you stick to leather ( bracelets are another story ). When you want a bracelet it's always better to get it with the watch, branded accessories are very expensive.

EwenFRGot it. Thank you so much! I will look into vintage style leather strap than metal. I know Tag charges arms and legs for metal bracelet. Was hoping Glycine would be better....

Joe-cool28I pretty much shop for NATOs at the low end of the market. I would suggest you have a look at Ebay/Amazon, get a couple and see how they suit you.

Joe-cool28All watch brands have the same policy when it comes to accessories. You can try CNS for leather NATO ( not the suedes, they're floppy ): https://www.cheapestnatostraps.com/collections/leather-nato-straps
