After 6 weeks! Great job @Glycine-USA! You did not exactly say that you already have it in Production to make us crave more haha

mcabrielSo glad I waited... I saw that comment too and had forgotten about it until this morning. Ended up going with the 40mm myself though, after much deliberation.

saaltonenDouble check if you really want it because that new released Airman No. 1 is in acrylic crystal (not sapphire), brushed bezel (not polished), no engraved caseback, 1 ATM or 10m water resistance

mcabrielThanks for pointing that out, I saw that and thankfully they have clarified some of those points for those thinking this is the same as the previous re-issue. Fortunately for me, I prefer the acrylic crystal and brushed finishing. The water resistance was the only item that gave me pause, other than picking between 36mm and 40mm. I wear a lot of vintage stuff that isn't water resistant anymore anyways, and I have a vintage 36mm original Airman, so the bigger size will be a nice option for me.

mcabrielTHANK YOU SO MUCH for pointing out these facts!!! I was SO excited when I saw this drop! I did not look carefully, but wanted to see what people were saying before pulling the trigger. Now I am glad I waited. Even used online, previous versions with the sapphire dome and 10ATM water resistance (case back is not clear on most) are almost always selling for $1K USD or more, so this seemed like a phenomenal deal. I am glad they offer a 40mm version of the (otherwise) "purist" since I have seen many photos of people wearing the 36mm and it really stands out as too small for contemporary style. Nevertheless, with these two very significant drawbacks from the original, from previous re-issues, and from other "Glycine Airman" versions in general, this is a stunning "cheap out" from a widely-respected company. Now we need to look closely at ALL Glycine watches we are considering, since clearly their quality is no longer a given. Now the "partnership" with Invicta makes sense, another brand that produces some fabulous watches WHEN the quality is good but that all too often misses the mark (for example, I have one "reserve, limited edition" Invicta that arrived with very visible fingerprints INSIDE the crystal but out of principle I refuse to pay the $35 they want me to pay to return it to fix THEIR mistake). Anyway, I digress. Thank you again for noting the details!!

saaltonenYou're welcome. Why do you prefer acrylic over sapphire?

Bookend0You're welcome. Acrylic Crystal is good looking and durable for this watch but I'm not paying 600$ for that. Also that 10m water resistance is a turn off.
