In my opinion, the loss of a fully numbered main dial makes this less attractive than the older/discontinued models such as my Airman 18. It's still a very good watch, but has lost some of it's distinctive character.

Mouse8459Well agreed, not only the numerals but also the hands and the style of the bezel... The newer versions look more legible, while the older ones look "prettier" with their more vintage looks. Am very happy with my DC-4 purist, and if I didn't have it, I probably wouldn't go for the new models... I'm a vintage fan! ;)

Thedonn007Really tempted by this but i'd be more tempted by a DC-4 purist drop :)

Mouse8459Yeah, all around for the most part I'm not a fan of the next gen Glycine changes.

Mouse8459I agree, I was excited at the opportunity to get something besides the luminous base 22 I go, but these aren't as nice looking.

Mouse8459I also agree. The fully-numbered main dial really draws attention to the fact that it is a 24-hour movement. Sure, the numbers count up by 2's to 24, but by skipping the odd numbers there are still only 12 numbers on the dial. At a glance (or more importantly at someone else's glance), it could easily be mistaken for a standard 12-hour watch.
As these drops are understandably only for current models, it appears that my choices are to wait for another SST drop and hope to get in early enough for the "Purist" models; to get this one and be happy with it as-is; or wait for an uncertain future in the hopes that Glycine reintroduces a fully-numbered version to their Contemporary line.
