Does anyone know the service interval or costs for Glycine watches? I don't own one yet, or a Swiss ETA, but this is very tempting. I'd hate to spend $650 and then have to service this thing every 5 years at $200-300 a pop. Any advice out there for a Swiss watch newbie?

SLO36Service a watch when it starts losing time. This can be 10+ years or 5 if you thrash it.

SLO36It's an ETA 2893, an extremely common Swiss movement. Every 5 years at about two hundred dollars is pretty much on the nail.

MassdropbearEvery five years is completely unnecessary. Should go at least ten years if not much longer, and the cost should be about $125. If you're spending $200 for basic cleaning and regulating, you need to find a new (qualified) jeweler that isn't gouging you.
