Product Description
Backed by more than 100 years of expertise, the Glycine Combat 6 Classic Moonphase has all of the features of the original Combat 6 Classic, but it keeps track of the moon’s position at 6 o’clock. The hands, pips, and indices are painted with Super-LumiNova for visibility, while the window at 3 keeps track of the date Read More
I own three Glycine watches and this is my first Moonphase complication. The dial and case finishing is very good and the stainless steel bracelet seems decent, although they are a pin & collar system. I've not had any issues with the movement thus far after owning it for a couple of months. The thin profile, as with most Glycines, makes it very easy to wear in most situations. Overall I'm very happy with the piece.
WatchGuy66And Glycine refuses to repair? I thought Drop's buy has 2-year manufacturer warranty? The watch is based on Sellita SW280-1 so it can't be that bad. Things happen still but in such case there are warranty coverage and Glycine service center is in Utah
Update 8/23: I now also own this watch and TBH I'm a little surprised that there's no warning in the manual that around mid night there must not be any quick correction (2nd crown position, clockwise for date / counter clockwise for moon phase) since the movement gear is engaging to switch them. I have another moon phase watch (ETA 7751) and the user manual very clearly prohibits such action between 6pm and 6am! I'll do the same on this SW280-1 to be on the safe side
So I saw this watch in NZ and it was expensive. It came up on Drop and I had to have it. I'll probably change the leather strap but it is nice with a suit. Just requires some breaking in. The moonphase can be easily set, you just have to wait for a full moon to do it.
The only issue really is that it's gaining alot of time really quickly. It's now a couple of minutes ahead and I only set the thing a few days ago. With the warranty it seems I'd have to send to Europe at my expense. Hmmm.
I'm really blown away by the dial. The finishing of the case is stunning as well. If I wanted to find some problems, I would say that sizing the bracelet was not so easy.
I think the specs that you get with this watch are extraordinary. I would recommend this beautiful Glycine to everybody who has got bored of Seiko.
This is a solid Swiss made watch in this price rang I would say. The quality is and the time is accurate. However, the quality of the movement didn’t match my expectation. When you wind it up, it feels great. But if you turn the nut in the opposite direction, you will feel a friction in the movement. I’m not sure if this is about the qc or all the watches with this movement are the same.
