For a 7.5" wrist, the 44-45mm Seiko "Turtle" might be a better fit (although my blue Turtle on bracelet works on my puny 6.25" wrist due to the angled lugs). Part of it depends on how you intend to use the watch; with a blazer or suit, the 40mm Combat Sub may look presentable as dress watches are historically smaller size. The Sub is only about 12mm thick, so it is a featherweight compared to the Turtle.
