For those who have small wrists ( mine is 6'5" ) received the 42mm Combat Sub, is it too big? How's the height/thickness? Just concerned that the 42mm might be too large for my wrist.

Loloman61I have 6'25" wrists and usually avoid anything more than 40mm, Combat is the only 42mm diver style watch that fits perfectly. I have pre-Invicta version with the drilled lugs and slimmer head-guard, but I don't think there is much of a difference how it fits. With only 10.5mm thickness it is one of the most thinnest divers out there and one of my favorite to-go watches. Highly recommended!

Loloman61Although it is 42 mm in diameter, the overall shape of watch and its very comfortable height (approx 11mm) make them usable also for subtle wrists. I have something around 6" and does not feel inappropriate. It shall be noticed that shape of lugs helps much. In comparison with 42 mm Steinharts Oceans, Glycine SUB fits much better due to the rounded lugs.

Loloman61It's really a matter of personal taste. What you consider too big might be fine for someone else with the same wrist-size. My wrist is between 6.5" and 7" and I found it too big for my liking and I flipped it. The lug-to-lug measurement is quite large and covered my entire wrist - I prefer the lugs to end before my wrist does. The 22mm lug width also adds to the size - I prefer a 20mm lug width for my skinny wrist. Anyway, have a look at the pics of the watch on my wrist:

russelkThanks for your inputs,James,Brainwave and RusselK.
By the way RusselK is your watch the 42mm or the 48mm?. The lug to lug on MD shows 46mm for the 42mm (which fits my wrist) while the 48mm shows 50mm.

Loloman61The info on MD is incorrect. I had the 42mm Combat Sub and the lug-to-lug is actually 50mm and NOT 46mm. I have other dive-watches that are just slightly smaller at 41.5mm wide (Orient Ray II and Citizen NY0040) but they wear a LOT smaller than the Combat Sub inspite of being thicker (13mm) due to the smaller lug-to-lug measurement (around 47mm).

brainwaveCould you please refer me if possible as to where to purchase it (pre Invicta), and what’s the reference number on yours so I can look for one? Really want something with exactly the same dimensions as the combat sub (pre Invicta)

Mr.RootUnfortunately, all the pre-Ivicta Combat watches were sold out from AD and grey market dealers long ago. You can only look now at used market and new watches from collectors (if they have any). I do have one new pre-Invicta Combat Sub that I purchased for my own collection, but I'm currently not looking to sale. The best way to identify pre-Invicta made Combat Sub is by its serial number that printed (itched) on the side of the watch case between the lugs instead of the back case lid as on Invicta owned Glycine'.
