As a matter of fact Invicta now owns the brand and distribute them but watches remain same quality as before, suppliers are the same and facilicties where they're made are the same, this may change in the future but today Glycine watches are the same as they were before. Too much desinformation with this, they just "downgraded" the brand but not the watches.

vrydrkI own this watch. The older one looks far superior and you can even tell with the specifications they provided that the watch has been downgraded (for example 200m to 100m). This watch used to cost up around ~1500 dollars when it first came out, the original, now it's in the 400's. I wouldn't pay this much for a watch that looks like that, holding the original up to it is like comparing an iPhone X to a cheap Chinese knockoff.

seedehWhich exact older Airman do you have? There are tons of different Airman but you talk about "the original". Again, which one? Aside from the water resistance that might be just a matter of design can you enlighten us about quality difference? Is the steel a knock off steel made of brass? It's the sapphire crystal made of mineral glass? You then talk about the look of the watch which is subjective thing and that's all you got. The way they set price at this point has nothing to do with the quality of the watches which remains the same whatever you trash talk about, if you find an European Ad you can expect to pay with little discount a sum of over 1k for any actual Airman but they simply don't sell well at that price point and Invicta downgraded the brand to a point they sell like candy. FYI the first and original Airman is from 1953, i assume you're talking about it and the price was NOT 1500 anything by that time, enjoy your chinese phone knock off instead. You simply know nothing about Glycine.

vrydrkI was talking about the Airman Double Twelve. It was the first thing I said, I own this watch, but in the original (or previous) styling. And as for the quality/brand, well, just one question for you: would you rather drive a Kia or a Mercedes?

vrydrkI recently got a Massdrop Glycine Combat Sub. To say I was disappointed with the quality would be an understatement. It was about what I would expect from Invicta, not Glycine. I have a 2016 Glycine Combat 6 which is much much better quality. The Combat Sub looked great in pictures, but in hand feels really cheap. Sharp edges, chintzy bezel, super stiff band, overly flat case, etc. Not sure if this is a result of Invicta or just the brand cheaping out recently. Sorry Glycine, but if the watch I got is an indication of the quality of other Glycines, they are not worth $400 - maybe $200, even then, I'd probably pass. Rather spend slightly more on something that feels significantly better or get a second-hand watch of much better quality. A Seiko would be a better choice and cheaper.
