I would buy the California dial version if this was 40mm but at 44 this style is way too large for my wrist. Was this an existing model or is this Invicta pushing their oversize agenda on what should be classic sized watches (aka S. Coifman). What's next, flamefusion?

Omegaman68Yep, it's an existing model, along with the 46mm Airfighter and 48mm F-104!

Omegaman68I wish I could wear small watches. I would buy vintage all day long. I have a 38 mm Grand Seiko that literally looks like I am wearing a woman's watch (I am a big guy). I would kill for a 6.5" wrist so I could buy cheap old 33mm Patek's and JLC's. Consider buying vintage for that Classic look you seek. You can get serious value in watches smaller than 34 mm. If 44mm is way too big, then you could easily wear 33mm. There is no reason not to wear entirely vintage then, and you will look like a boss.

SkipPpGreat reply. I do have a few vintage pieces in my collection but nothing under 36mm. I don't wear them very often because I thinkbthey look small even on my 6.75in wrist. My sweet spot is 40-42mm in a diver and 38-40 in a dress watch. This watch with a lack of bezel and large dial opening plays larger on the wrist then it's case size and just looks bigger than it is. This is just my opinion. It is a great looking watch though.

Omegaman68Yes, the no-bezel thing is amazing. I have an 8" wrist, but I can wear a 35mm Nomo without issue. I actually own a few 36mm vintage watches that wear small, but I do not care. If I had your wrists, I would certainly wear high-end dress watches from the 1950's. The prices are insane. You can actually afford a Calatrava or similar. I have seen so many great little dress watches that I simply cannot wear. That said, I agree with your sizes (wearing a 38mm Presage "baby Grand Seiko" right now), but I think I simply prefer smaller watches on my wrist, save for pilot's watches. I own humongus pilot's watches, and love them.
