With its monstrous 48-millimeter case, the Glycine KMU is fit for large wrists and maximum legibility. But that’s not only thanks to its size Read More
Lumed hands, what about the indexes? Asking as, on my dc-4 Purist, the line on the hands is poor but somehow visible for a while, while the one on the indexes is totally useless. So impossible to read the time at night in the end. Overall, am really not impressed with the quality of the DC-4 and regret buying it
Hey! Yes, it's up for grabs (even though I've only advertised it once on Facebook, not much time to chase buyers), but the offer is probably more interesting for people who live in Europe as I ship from Belgium. Where you at? :)
Thanks much Doc, that makes sense. BIG watch with a small movement, makes for date window and sub dial well inside the perimeter....not sure I feel about that yet even though I'm a big Glycine fan. Thinking I'll stick with my 46mm Incursore for now. Thanks for the info Doc!
If they are using a variant of the SW200, is it the SW200-1 ? The dash 1 is a slight redesign of three gears that makes the teeth slightly more robust and thus resistant to shock.
Pet peeve: automatics with small second complications. If I pay for 5 or 6 or 8 beats per second, I want to see the tippity-tip of a nice long sweeping second hand.
Question: Why so many Glycine drops? (I'm not complaining.)
OK. Fair enough. But how much of a bath could you possibly take on a $389 watch? I wouldn't buy this one because it is big enough to eat a piece of cake off of it,
I am not sure if we are speaking of the same thing. I mean case finishing, dial quality,..., not features or style. I own Swiss watches that easily outclass Seiko, but Seiko delivers on raw quality for price (I specifically mean the Presage series). They do not a moonphase, nor do they have the style of Glycine, but I do feel that the case and dial quality beat them at the same price point (compared to an equivalent Presage model).
You know what they say about small hands.... You probably got a 48mm case.
Nice looking watch, just afraid that this will look like a can of Fancy feast strapped to my wrist. Definitely a watch I couldn't buy sight unseen.
Holding out for the Combat 6 vintage, hint hint massdrop.
I wish Glycine would have just left this model alone, it had a certain charm to it when it had the 17 jewel hand wound Unitas 6497 movement.
Buy using a smaller automatic movement just makes the small seconds and date seem out of place.
