AokmanA 4-month wait is actually an unusual short time considering that the board comes with a custom keycaps, PCB, and case. This is still a custom made board.

$300 for 4 months is nothing in the KB world.
that said you are also making some rather baseless assumption, they aren’t “sitting on the funds collecting interest“, they send the money to GMK and then GMK uses it to manufacture said keyboards. That’s how purchasing without a distributor works. That’s economics, something even a chump would realize.
i dont really see why it matters tho. i struggle to believe you would have purchase this keyboard even if it was readily available, as if you really wanted it you wouldn’t care either way.
If high end mechanical keyboards arent your thing, there is no shame in that, but there is no reason to shit on people who disagree with you simply because you really enjoy your razer keyboard. There are no readily available keyboard that are comparable to this that I am aware of. 0.

Amnesia1187I will happily pay $400 for a nice keyboard, I will not wait 4 months for it though if it even makes it to the finish line. Ill just buy something that is ready to go. Massdrop was supposed to be about group buying power to get lower prices, not being a kickstarter project.

It’s ALL through group buys, and you are LUCKY if they take 4 months AND you often have to win a slot, because that’s the other thing is, most high end kb GBs have limited slots. look at any of the nicest boards like any duck keyboard or for something more specific look at the TGR-910 CE; 30 slots, around ~400 shipped, 8-10 weeks, sold out in about a minute. but that’s just the beginning. Keyboard like the MIRA sometimes take a year or more to deliver.
also, almost everything on massdrop ships in like 2-3 months anyway.

AokmanSome of the communities tend to ship stuff right away, other drops are made to order. The majority of stuff I've bought on Massdrop has been made to order and takes a while to ship. Buying something that's made to order doesn't make anyone a chump. It means they possess some degree of patience. Obviously if you need something right away, a made to order drop isn't the best idea.

Amnesia1187I love how defensive mech people are about their purchases lol. Your arent purchasing some exotic high end car limited to 500 units. Its a generic keyboard wrapped in a metal frame With some key caps There are plenty of places on the net that have them ready to ship in various configs if you know where to look. Biggest thing I worry about with drops like this is if they crash and burn and disappear with everyones money.

You can easily file a fraud claim with your credit card company and get your money back.
