Ah, mechkeys@massdrop ... I can't think of any other category of purchase where I consistently need to ask for help in understanding exactly what the hell I need ...but here we are again. These caps are gorgeous and if I can manage to get the correct set I'll be happy.
For anyone with the patience, here is my situation and objectives – if based on that you confirm my order I'd be grateful.
* I am purchasing these keycaps for an ISO WhiteFox which has already been ordered, and which may or may not arrive in a few months.
* Because I am building the WhiteFox myself and that project might burn up on the launch pad ...AND because I might not be able to survive deep space without a full function row – I need this set to be compatible with other popular mech keyboard platforms/layouts I might escape to ...especially those with a full function row.
* I like the Solar Alphas. I am running a Danish layout, so I'll need the Norde Kit. I've gathered this much.
So....
Solar Alphas + Norde Kit + TSAFOX ? or... Solar Alphas + Cockpit + Norde Kit + TSAFOX ? or... Solar Alphas + Modifiers + Norde Kit + TSAFOX ? or...
Help, Godspeed.

kernsLast line! Alpha + modifiers +tsafox + norde kit is the minimum for white-fox. I also have a white-fox on the way and on top of the minimum I've also ordered novelty (the heart and soul for buying this keycap set really) and the calc set for a custom number pad (or full size keyboard if I change my mind).

MunnybearCool. But will this leave me equipped to move to another keyboard in the future? The last line omits function keys does it not?
And you're right, I'll also need the novelty...This is getting expensive. A full set of caps will rival the cost of a WF itself.

kernsI can't see the picture… but I went through same struggle as you, hence I decided to also get the calc set (I use excel alot). Basically this allows me to cover a full size keyboard, TKL, most 65% keyboards and 60% keyboards. If you aren't thinking about Ergo or 40% this should be quite good already. However… both Ergo and 40 set have some pretty… interesting novelty keys… e.g. Launch, KSC, Land, Houston, Lunar… etc. Life is not meant to be easy…

kernsYou might want to buy alpha + modifiers instead of cockpit set because other addons kits aren't 2-2-3-3-3-3. Of course, if you are clearly aware of what the Cockpit set is and don't mind the non-uniform key height (when combined with novelty keys and calc keys), then that's completely fine.

MunnybearSee, the problem is I have no idea what you're saying here. I recognize words and numbers, but I'm even less clear than before.
My objectives are the same however – Danish ISO layout on the WhiteFox, but fully portable to another keyboard with a function row (though not necessarily a number pad). I understand this means I will have some number of keys that don't get used on the WF...maybe the space bar.
Do I need to go ahead and pick out my backup keyboard now?

kernsSo you need a WhiteFox layout and the Norde Kit since you want to cover a Danish layout but want it to be fully transferable to another keyboard with a function row (not necessarily with a numpad).
So you'll Alphas (of your choice) + mods + tsafox + Norde for your danish keys. Mods include function row keys as is so... You'd be set right? If you want to cover numpad possibilities grab the calculus as well, other than that I think you'd be good to go with the above mentioned for the most part when fitting standardized modifier sized keyboards. You might miss a couple mods for 60% layouts à la Pok3r/HHKB-esque but you just said if you cannot get used to the WF's small form factor you'll go back to a keyboard with an F row so I'm assuming you won't go into boards that are even smaller than that.
The spacebar will always get use, Whitefox' one is standardized at 6.25, most other boards you'll be buying will share the same size. Only a select few use 6.5 nowadays, if anything the 7u one you get with the Tsafox kit won't see use but I that's probably not a big deal, you won't use it with the WF either so it is "wasted" regardless.

kernsOkay, so you want a Danish WF kit combination that could be ported to a TKL keyboard?
Alphas + Modifiers + TsaFox + Norde
Add novelties/lunar for extra style, if you want.
The important question to ask here is whether you want all of your keyboards with the Danish layout or not, and if you want 223333 or 112343 sculpt.
Click on MORE in the link below so you can read and understand the differences between 223333 or 112343.

And let me know what other concerns you have, I'm absolutely sure we'll be able to figure this out okay?

kernsI wanted to point out to you that there is a difference between Alpha + modifiers (as we discussed earlier) vs Cockpit (shown in your screenshot). The difference is simply a different sculpted height, where Alpha + Modifiers is a standard SA shape (aka 1-1-2-3-4-3) and Cockpit is a less conventional flat shape (aka 2-2-3-3-3-3). For your information 1 stands for row 1 which is taller than row 2 and row 2 is taller than row 3 etc. From what you've said so far (assuming you are only going for either WF or TKL), as long as you are not considering a full size keyboard (with no. pad) you can ignore my comments about a non-uniform key height in the same row (calc set is 1-1-2-3-4-3 which will be odd when used with cockpit that is 2-2-3-3-3-3). If you are still confused let me know or you can ask the boss here @MiTo
