I was debating getting this tuner, and I saw on the review on Amazon, several different people were complaining it's not true bypass. Just wanted to inform.

ChuckDeeNot true bypass? Taking that a true bypass design only require some wires and a dpdt switch and that a buffered design is much more convoluted I wonder how they achieved that marvel, but who knows, now it's just a matter of opening the box and witness it, do you have a link to the amazon review?

cinoTrue bypass doesn't affect the tone when connected. The reviews were saying it affected the tone of the instrument with it in the in the line. However, the reviews have completely changed since I saw it yesterday, so not really sure what's happening on Amazon.

MIkeGtrHave you used it? Did you not see an effect on your tone? And yes, I saw the others. Those just appeared today after the other one became unavailable. It would seem that no matter what, the reviews for the same product would be there- no matter who was selling it. That just seems strange. But it's enough for me, and I was just giving info- that's what the comments on Massdrop are all about.
Make your decisions based on all of the info, and I hope it works out well for you. I'm not taking the chance, and just going with another Pitchblack.

ChuckDeetrue bypass does affect the signal it doesn't 'suck' freq as some buffers do but it also depends on the build quality, the more you add to the chain the weaker the signal goes hence why buffers were designed and hence you should use a buffer should your signal path need it. Reading the reviews a shielding or a contact problem comes to mind but again it would be the stranger thing to put a dpdt switch in a device, advertise it is true bypass and put a buffer in it but anything can happen :)

ChuckDeehttp://www.amazon.com/GOGO-Tuners-Pedal-Tuner/dp/B008OFGZXE/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1459523093&sr=1-1&keywords=gogo+tuner
These were good reviews! I have used it for 200 gigs+ , my sound is not altered in anyway!! I did speak with the company. ( Btw , very nice people) . When they first released the pedal 4 years ago , there was an issue with ONLY the first 100 units. ..but that was about 4 years ago and they were able to get the majority of these returned, updated , etc. It looks like the person who may have left the review you posted was from that time. They even offered a FREE replacement if you have a valid proof of purchase. I think I am sticking with the GoGo : )
On another note, reviews are just like opinions and opinions are just that ! just Opinions. All I can I say is I use it, I am professional gigging musician and love it. ....so for more me that's for that the only criteria I can base my opinion on, by using it in real application for 2 years and counting. ...not reading a second hand opinion on the internet.

ProgigManI've gotten burned on MD before, so do my due diligence. Thanks for your opinion on it, but I've already decided not to take the chance. Glad you like it and glad it works for you, but I know what the pitchblack is like, so I'll just stick with it, and know what I'm getting. Like you said... opinions. And I'll go with mine in this case. Just giving the link to the info so people can use their own judgement.

ChuckDeeMmm, sorry to put 20 cents back in but really plug your tuner to an A/B box like this http://www.loop-master.com/custom-mini-version-decals-p-216.html. These are amazing sturdy and clean made loopers and switchers (I own some and price and quality wise they are a better deal than one you can diy -went that way too-), price is cut for a limited time starting today, just got their promotional mail so I thought I'd share. You can then forget about signal going through the tuner to concentrate on tuner specs you need (accuracy, visibility, responsiveness, reliability, easiness, calibration, etc.) and even mute your sound while tuning. The pitchblack is a nice tuner (first entry level versions were not that nice if I recall correctly), I had one as well as a Boss TU2 for years, glad I now got a Snark though and these GoGo look pretty interesting *on paper* as well.

cinoAgain, I didn't say signal. They said that the tone itself was affected. Buzzing and other artifacts that would have nothing to do with signal. It was just an observation, for those that hadn't seen that and didn't have personal experience. As with everything YMMV. And the drop is over besides, so it serves no purpose at this time.

ChuckDeeYou didn't indeed, did I say you did? I was just adding infos to clarify things regarding the amazon reviews and the nature of true bypass.
