casperinmdI didn't get an answer so I stuck with EE as I love their products and their customer support. When I got a rip in my hoodlum they sent me fabric repair tape instead of telling me to go buy it myself. That gets my repeat business.
casperinmdThe biggest diff from pics, is the EE is longer, so will tuck in another jacket and stay put, but I have not worn it so not sure how that works. EE also has the drawstring to keep pulled back from your face if needed.
EE has more fill too, 2oz or 4oz model vs this one at 1oz or 1.5oz, and EE is $60 normal price.
Hmm, so after doing this comparison based on written spec, I may just stick to the EE hoodlum.
PunkdigeratiGood point on comparing down to synthetic!
However, not it is not 10oz, you are comparing synethic quilt/bag with down. For the diff in this head wear with down at 1.3oz, and the EE synthetic at 1.4oz or 1.9oz (depending on how much you put in), it is .1oz to .6oz different, quite a bit less than 1 oz.
I guess it is a wash, go with either, surely won't go wrong. I would not give up my down quilt, but I do use a synthetic puffy coat over down, so when I sweat in it or get light rain, it still keeps me dry, I'd not do that in a down puffy coat.
Each has it's use and that also depends on how you use it, so plan it out, pick one and be happy adn warm!
