Anyone know how durable the finish on these is? I've had "anodized" lugs in the past but the finish ended up flaking off after a couple of wheel changes.

KinickieIsn't "a couople of wheel changes" very good? Normally you wouldn't see anodize coating handle repeated abuse of a wheel gun.

SwesenI do all my wheel changes by hand with a torque wrench so no, to me that level of durability is not good.
I can't seem to find out any info on the type or durability of the finish, which would be the motivator for me to replace my current ones. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be a big help!

Kinickiemy black gorillas are fine. have changed the wheels out about 10-15 times within the last year and no issues with the finish. although they are the cheap keyed lugs not a standard hex lug.
KinickieHi Kinickie,
Thanks for the question! The lugs in this drop are all hardened steel (for durability) and all of the platings are chrome or a variation of chrome so there won't be any issues with the finish. No painted on finishes and our chrome plating is high quality. Plus, we offer a one year warranty if you do have any problems!
Thank you, Jon Collier Gorilla Automotive

GorillaAutoI use a set of black chrome open ended and have changed had my wheels off 30-40 times in the last 2 years. There is some scarring but nothing major. I consider the surface very durable. I have seen some posts about the prism ones having some problems but that is a surface that will show every little mark. You have to remember how much force you are applying to lug nuts when torquing them...
All in all I consider these to be an excellent set of lug nuts, and I have used many different types.
WhichwaydidheGoForgot to respond to this! Our "black chrome" is an electro plated black over nickel, very similar to chrome so it will be similarly durable. Some competitors paint their black which will not hold up very well in the short or long run.
The prism finish is a very interesting one, it is a chrome plating with a chemical treatment to create the varying colors. That means the color is in the plating, not on the surface, so it's durability is the same as chrome!
Thanks for the kind words and feedback!
