My m920 has arrived in my hand. Thanks Massdrop. (It took 7 days...)
Still a short period of time,I was compared with the m9xx. Not proportional to the difference between the price but, m920 at all is better than m9xx.
M920 is no sound colored in neutral as well m9xx, this is a product of Grace Design. Sound stage space, focus, clarity, is better than m9xx. and the background is very darker and darker than m9xx. I can not be measured, but noise floor is very low. may be.
I think Sound quality improvement and growth of the ultra-bass by AC power supply and a larger transformer.
Exterior of the quality of the m920 is great. This is commensurate with the price difference. Enclosure is small but Hefty, it seems of the precious metal.
After that, I worry because the top plate is very hot . Is m920 not a class A amplifier?

Yes. I feel so.
m9xx is a good product, but it is the category of USB DAC/AMP. m920 is desktop (or rack-mounted) product that using a large toroidal transformer.
Bass of the m920 is deeper than m9xx, and treble of m920 will feel silky than m9xx. But there is no difference of as well 3x price.

GraceDesignLovehow did u install? Literally I just plug it in and its works... for m9xx, sometimes I need to adjust the sound by scrolling mouse on right bottom corner of the windows, seems I can only adjust from knob from m920 only, I assume because m920 takes over all the time while m9xx isnt ?

GraceDesignLovemine is a bit hot too, but not very hot, may be lift it up a bit create a hollow speace underneath would help?

Jas260Since the OS such as windows does not put out a sound only from one of the sound device, m9xx, m920 was using to switch exclusively to each other.

Jas260I bought the m9xx at $499 and m920 at $1399. Oh, it was 3x instead of 4x. It was modified. :)

GraceDesignLoveI think its better than 9xx, clearly the difference is not as much as price. Be honest I have really compare it yet, once I had the unit, I just simple put 9xx away and use 920. Since there are more than 10,000 people requested, I am sure they have more than enough unit spare to sell. at least 5k units for this time. I have hd 800, hd 650, k812, k701, k702, pandor vi and two version of th x00 etc, but still tempted by hd 6xx, even i knew it is not close to 800 and 812.

Jas260You have all these headphone! I envy you.
I use a beyerdynamic DT1770Pro(be crazy about) and ULTRASONE 900Pro and B&W P7. I use only closedback headphone because it does not put out the sound around. So, hd6xx will want but sound leakage is anxiety.

GraceDesignLoveI think with limited budget, I more prefered to upgarde headphone than dac & amp. When you listen lossless files, good headphone with shit dac and amp still perform better than a average headphone with good dac & amp. Even with mid tier dac &amp, those top headphone wont perform 100%, yet still better than mid class headphone with a good amp dac.

GraceDesignLovenow u have a decent dac & amp, so you can upgrade your headphones :) I knew, but I recently compared closed headphone with open, there are so much that open headphone can offer while closed is not even close.

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?

I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better. I also find that my PC38X don't get quite as loud as I would like and I was wondering if a cheap amp like the iFi Go link would draw a little more volume out of my phones. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN6MM822?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I went with the PC38X since it was considered the best bang for buck headphones. Looking for a gaming/content audio setup

Hello! I'm looking for recommendations on audio setups. I'd be planning on using it mostly for gaming. Preferably I'd like a pair of large closed back headphones since I have a big head and jaw. I'd also like to hear myself through my mic with mic monitoring. As far as budget goes, I don't really have one. But under 600$ would be nice. I can go higher if needed. The audio setup would be connected to a high performance PC. Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

$10 Drop Coupon Email not sent?

Trying to buy some gear off Drop for the first time. I was told I would receive an email with a welcome to drop $10 off promo. I never received that email. Drop was able to send me emails for my login token and email for Password update. But for some reason the $10 off coupon was never sent to me.

Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.
