Has anyone who owns this tried this with either a very high impedance or inefficient headphone? I am wondering if this will be sufficient for my Fostex T50RP Mk3's in particular, on my Modi/Magni Uber Schiit stack I listen to the Mk3's at 2 o'clock on high gain and the Schiit stack is quite a bit more powerful than this, even the non-uber version is more powerful. I'm just wondering if this would be sufficient, looking for a smaller form factor for my desktop is all. Would love to pick up a Jotunheim but it's just too big for where I'd like to put it. Also not super thrilled that there is no way to turn this unit off other than just unplugging it.. is it designed to stay on 24/7? Or would that be bad for it?

KiiddoEasily drives my T50RP Mk3's and pretty much any planar or dynamic HP I own. I regularly run my beyerdynamic T1's which are 600 ohm and many consider hard to drive. The ergonomics of the m9XX are what really grow on you, and the small footprint tops it off.

eeaglethanks man, appreciate the reply. Do you run yours 24/7 though? With no way to turn it off I'm not sure what we're supposed to do.. keep it running all the time? or reach around and unplug it?

KiiddoYes I run it 24/7; the m9XX is only 2.5W low or 8W high so not much impact. Display shuts off after 5 seconds by default.
My computer runs 24/7 as well since along with being my whole house music server, it runs a personal weather station for wunderground that uploads data every few seconds.
One can get a switched USB hub, or even one of the Master relay type power strips that shut everything down when the device plugged into the Master outlet shuts off if total power off is desired.

eeagleGreat, thanks for the info. My pc is on basically 24/7 as well, was just wondering if there was any degradation with the m9xx as a result of running it all the time. Looks like I'll be hopping on this. Thanks for answering my questions.

Kiiddomy m9xx has been on for 17 months straight. Good as day 1. Though I'm only using it as a DAC, shrug. I'm only mildly sad that the Dim Display feature still let's a small light stay on instead of full black-out. It's kind of annoying, especially when a room is dark and there's no native power switch for the m9xx. They need to update it's firmware, even if it's just for me.
