I don't think you can call the SR series sound signature 'v-shaped'. That implies more highs and lows, and recessed mids. Grados do not have recessed mids whatsoever, the mids are quite present in quantity and very forward in the sound signature. They also have 'musical' bass in that it is present, but not thumpy, and doesn't affect the mids; these are not bass lover headphones. They also have a lot of presence in the highs, to the point that some people find them fatiguing - I think that's only true with bad/low bitrate recordings.
Given the mid emphasis, I would almost call this Grado sound signature 'bell curved', almost the opposite of v-shaped, although that's exaggerating it a bit.
