Cap, section, and the end piece (not a turning knob) are all metal. This pen has good weight and feels substantial.

Can someone tell me if the cap, section and turning knob is metal, or plastic?

KenSAll metal and very solid. The only thing that is not absolutely solid is the feed and collar. Unless you get a bad piece these should not trouble you. The only way I have seen these giving any trouble is that there is a small chance that the nib and feed have a small gap causing ink starvation. This is rare though.
This was my grail pen for the longest time.

The specs of the wood are pretty much up there. However, no two pieces are alike, so there's a risk of getting an inferior pattern
