The description mentions this can be used as a tarp or shelter. Is this actually in regards to a hammock, or to a non-mentioned rainfly for said hammock?

RinyreNot an informed response, just an observation: it appears that the wiregate carabiners are the gathers for the fabric at each end on this model. So I suppose in a pinch you could take out the 'biners in order to spread the fabric fully to use it as a tarp of sorts. Whether that is a good idea or not is another matter, since hammock fabric isn't generally treated to be water repellent enough for that application. Also the thing is pretty darned small at only 4 feet wide by 9 feet.
I'm really curious who came up with that crazy line. I don't see it in the description of this product on Grand Trunk's own website. It reminds me of the kind of thing you see in the description of a knock-off product on Amazon: "this wonderful and strongly bath towel can also be used as a colorful diaper and as a head scarf when it's cold."
RinyreNot suitable as a tarp or shelter. Grand Trunk does make a hammock (I think it's the "all terrain hammock") that's marketed as being suitable for tarp use. But not the Nano 7.
