Granite Gear Crown 60 Backpacks

Deliberately simple in design, the successor to the classic Granite Gear Vapor Trail, the Granite Gear Crown V.C. backpack is made for thru-hikes and multi-day adventures. It features the Vaper Current suspension, complete with ventilation channels molded into the back pad, and dual-density padded shoulder straps and belt. To keep you comfortable on the trail, the frame’s molded air channels allow air to circulate from bottom to top, taking advantage of convection to aid in evaporative cooling. This facilitates circulation without shifting the pack’s center of gravity away from your back. The belt has the capacity to accept optional hip belt pockets and the frame is removable so the pack can be used for ultralight loads.

During a paddling trip through Quetico Provincial Park in 1986, friends Jeff Knight and Dan Cruikshank decided the world needed better outdoor gear—and they wanted to have something to do with it. Not long after, Granite Gear was born. Today, it makes award-winning backpacks, stuff sacks, and other accessories for wilderness adventurers, travelers, students, and even soldiers in the field. The company takes its name from the toughness of its products, which have gained a cult-like following and proven their mettle in some of the world’s harshest environments, from Mount Everest to the North and South Poles.
