Passed on this last time, pulled the trigger this time. Even with the slightly steep international shipping the 50% off msrp makes it still worth it. Great looking pack for extended dayhikes or light overnighters. Love that moss green colour!

gnarledcouleeThe green looks great in person. The micro dobby fabric gives a little sheen and depth. None of the photos I've seen online really show the color well.

NamethStill love it! Still going strong. It’s my go-to pack for long day hikes and sometimes for single night trips. I’m generally a bit harder on my gear than most. This pack has fallen down ravines into rivers, smashing into trees like a Plinko game on the way down, and withstood many many hundreds of kms of hard use in every type of weather. I’m sitting here trying to think of any downsides to this pack and I literally cannot think of one.

NamethLike it a lot although I haven't used it a bunch since I usually use smaller packs (my Lutsen is the 45L). Every time I put it on I get reintroduced to that pronounced lumbar pad, but I actually like it. I did consider both lightening up the plastic sheet with some careful holes/slots and possibly heating it to lessen that lumbar curve just a little, but that will necessitate some other trimming as well and I'm not sure it's that important to me to tinker with (although they do have replacement sheets available). When I got this the new Crown2 wasn't available yet, and I have the 38L version of that...if I were to do it again I think I'd opt for the Crown2 over the Lutsen, but the capacities between the product lines aren't the same and the Crown2 doesn't handle as much weight (does very well though). They're largely the same packs in most aspects...the re-fit belt did get slightly larger pockets on the Crown2 and both pockets are nylon fabric. The Crown2 also lost the inner bladder pouch but still has the hang hook...kinda wish it had the pouch but no big deal. Even if you don't use a bladder the pouch is handy for other small items. I'm surprised the Lutsen packs haven't been more popular because it's a really good design and carries great, very little to complain about. The lumbar seems to be the only real complaint I've heard from anyone anywhere, and that's been said about some other packs in the past too (old Gregory models come to mind)...love it or hate it I guess. The real strength is the re-fit belt, imho. The pocket mesh has been surprisingly durable on both.

StepbystepPrice is sure a lot better this time. $25 less than what I paid on my drop and that was already a pretty good price at the time.
