Are we just pretending that the canister on the picture of the guy in snow gear isn't photoshopped on?

You will ship from US?

Well I think I might of rushed a bit there . So shipping to an EU country, from within the EU is 21.25 USD for a 29.99 item. At the same time shipping within US is 8 USD. It seems too much.
damxHi @damx , I will have to adjust this somehow. It should be more like €10-€12 for shipping and then no customs! I will have to work out how we can set that price up with Massdrop. Will respond to this comment asap when we have worked this out.

Bought this in the last drop, and I'm very happy with it. I haven't had any of the containers leak, and I've had something wet in every meal I've eaten with it. The total volume, which I try to get to by packing things in, is 1.3 liters, and that's enough for a meal and a snack for me. It does certainly lend itself better to things like chilli, rice and veg, where you can really pack it in, but I like that. The nicest, and most unexpected, feature is the 4 containers - it makes meal prep more interesting for me, to think of 4 different things to pack for a meal. I end up with more interesting and varied lunches because I try to use the different containers to plan a varied meal: a cup of banana smoothie and a cup of mixed nuts in the cups, rice and lentils in one main and salad and veg in the other. Overall, I'm very happy with it.
j3573rblackVery glad to hear this! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this with the group! :)

what the fuck is this fucking thing and what the hell is it supposed to do? I've looked at the pics several times today and I can't figure out what it is. Is it a lunchbox? Its got two cups in it..I think?... And also maybe a comb?

DumpTruckoh, wait, never mind. I just watched JamesGT's video and found out it's an overpriced piece of complicated garbage for people who like buying trinkets.

I'm disappointed with this purchase. I'll start with the positives. The container seems pretty sturdy. In the course of my commute I've banged it around for a bit and it's intact with only some minor scuffs. The insulated bag it came with is also great and keeps my drinks warm .
The main issue I have is that the main center container is small. You could fit a quarter portion of pasta in it, maybe. They are in no way leak-proof either. I put some creamy carbonara into it for a hike and when I took the container out to eat the sauce had leaked into the carrying bag. The unit came with small end caps to replace the cups if you don't need them but neither of the caps fit onto the container for me, so they're pretty much useless.
With a few fixes this could turn into a pretty neat meal container but I don't see myself using this current version.

Hi @JamesGT,
Thanks for the response. I'll inspect the gaskets closely to check for any abnormalities. Ideally the fit would be uniform but I'm willing to do some fiddling to get the right fit. I also managed to fit on one of the end caps but the other one just would not twist onto the grooves, to the point some of the plastic was stripping off. I'll try warming it in hot water first as you suggested.
I hope you get the QA issues sorted. All the best with future versions of the product; it's got potential.
swimifyThanks I will send replacement End Caps then. The newer ones are better. Let me know by email your address and if I need to send gaskets as well and what color. Please send pictures if you find anything amiss.
Thank you!

Okay, let me add my two cents in since I now have it and have used it for commuter lunches as well as on the trail. 1. First off, let me point out that I'm not suggesting you avoid this product at all. I'm simply sharing my points so that you will be completely aware of what you are looking to purchase. 2. The guy that invented it and created the video for it's first debut must have been a fool if he believes that Tupperware and/or Rubbermaid containers leak. At that, he'd have a hard time proving his green traveler is even less leak proof than them because it's actually more apt to leak than they would be. 3. The two larger center containers are NOT leak resistant in the slightest. The two end cups, however, are quite leak proof. I've tested this banging around on my backpack with only a carabiner attachment so you know it banged around quite a bit yet leaked not at all (referring to the end cups only). 4. All examples of it being used that you see are misleading. ALL photos of it holding food are misleading. Example: My first time using it, I could fit a half PB&J and about a dozen Fritos into one half of the central tube and the same into the other half of the central tube. Normal house bread, nothing big or fancy from a store; it was just a PB&J from home. I filled one end cup with more Fritos, because two dozen wasn't going to cut it for me, and the other end cup with PB Capt. Crunch (all time fav snack). So here I am, a full grown 42 year old man, with a single PB&J with some dry snacks to back it up. Not a fulfilling lunch, let me tell you. Conversely, hiking, I brought sushi and that little green traveler will hold quite a bit of sushi if you pack it in carefully. Seriously, a surprising amount. So, I guess, to be positive, watch what you put into it or it won't hold as much as you'd like. 5. I'd have paid whoever the entire package price for just the insulated carrying case. IT IS PRICELESS in it's ability to maintain steady temperatures. I often throw bananas in it to take hiking so they won't freeze. Yeah, it's like that in The Rockies, lol. Didn't mean for my bullet points to become paragraphs but I wanted to share my experience with the thing so far and, in case I didn't state it clearly, I am not happy with it. I find it mostly useless. Mainly because I can't wash and sufficiently dry it fast enough to use daily so it's merely a once in a while thing to use. On the size issue, now that I realize I can add an image, let me show you a great size comparison by putting a Starbuck's Doubleshot can into one of the central containers. Also remember, it is only as thick as a single PB&J sandwhich. and we all know how small a Doubleshot is... Don't avoid or dismiss this product based on my words alone, just be a well advised consumer.

NevynTheNomadI think they could have avoided all the controversy if they just would have been honest about how many Fritos and exactly how much Captain Crunch this device will actually hold. That's what's important!

Deceptive photos suggest there are three large containers. There are only two. Looks like you can only use it for dry items, this thing leaks, no clearly illustrated seals. The oroduct website? Not helpful.
dbogieNot intending to deceive you in the photos. There are two liquid tight middle sections, and two liquid tight cups. We have had many happy customers who enjoy the product and have left reviews on our website. If you give suggestions on improving our website MyGreenTraveler.com I would be happy to try to improve it. We are always hoping to make it better. Thank you for giving this another thought.

dbogieI got this in the last drop. The middle 2 containers to have silicone seals, but mine leak a little with just water in them. I think a thicker sauce would probably not leak at all. The cups on either end have screw-on caps that seal water tight.

This is amazing that this is already here in Massdrop. I haven't even received mine even though I joined in Kickstarter for V1. For me this is not justifiable since there are many people who pledged and have not received it and then boom, now it is on Massdrop selling. Nice for everyone! Such a shame for people who pledged early for this product, people like me! :(
Great answer @monnoval! That is hilarious! Well I checked on the order and it never left the warehouse in HK. Some stupid issue with my credit balance. So it is all updated and reordered. Will arrive in 3 to 5 working days via DPEX. I sent you a message through KS with your tracking number. (Don't want anyone following your package to find you at Orchard Towers....) ;-) My sincere apologies again.

JamesGTHi James, oh gosh this message is already more than a year! I've sent you numerous message over Kickstarter and I have filled up the google doc for my V1. I've received some email about the delivery being soon, but that was last May 2019! My backer #1842, just in case if you want to check thru. Thanks!

@massdrop it'd be cool if you could get some pictures of people using the products in these drop pages. It's always hard to tell scale with these things, and I end up having to find their kickstarter video or whatever.
FragninjaIf you go to our Instagram to see many pictures of it. @my.green.traveler or just search 'GreenTraveler instagram' into Google. It is 16" long and 4" at the widest part. It holds 1.3 liters/44oz of liquids, or food and weighs 1,2 lbs/500g empty. Hope that helps. Thanks!
