Didn't previous drops have international shipping?
And the answer about Gregory not allowing this to ship outside of the US because of agreements, seems a bit invalid since Amazon has no problems shipping it to Israel...
Massdrop - You might consider reading up on how to adjust a backpack properly. Both models have them on completely wrong. Doesn't help show the packs at their best.
Unfortunately I just purchased this pack at a higher price. I spent a few months looking for the best pack and this is what I ended up with. This is a great deal on a great backpack.
It seems like the models In this drop are mixed;
The Bolturo 65 Black and 75 Blue are 2017 models (from what I can tell from the picture).
Other than that, those are 2018 models with the mesh front pocket.
Why would you even post this without updating the information or even mentioning that they completely redesigned the pack? I'd think you would have figured this out after the last drop failed.
Its not even clear whether this is for the new model or the older one. Some pics are for the older model and some for the newer one. The older one can be purchased for far less and indeed it was offered here for $139.99 not long ago.
I already have a new model Baltoro 65 on order with REI, used my 20% coupon but this is a great price. As I walked into the store I wanted to go with the Osprey Aether 60 (because of the water bottle access), had it loaded up to 48 lbs total and walked around. It wasn't very good for me, it seemed that almost all of the weight was on the hipbelt, and especially at the front of the hip bones which would very likely become a hot spot. Also when I turned a corner the pack wanted to keep going straight, it was very unstable. I loaded the Baltoro 65 up with the same weights, but for a 1/2 pound less total weight, because in spite of what people are saying the weight of this pack, the 2018 model anyway, is good for it's class. The Baltoro was stable and comfortable at 47-1/2 lbs, and the weight was mainly on the general lumbar area, no hot spots anywhere. I have come to realize that Gregory packs work very well with my body type, packs without a pronounced lumbar curve require excessive belt tightening, often to the max even with a small belt, and I don't wear size small anything. I also have a Paragon 58 which I love - up to about 33 pounds total weight though. In actual use I will subtract weight from the pack, I will ditch the raincover, hydration carrier/daypack, and sleeping compartment separator, and perhaps even the lid (I'll have to take a closer look at that upon receipt).
You may use a shipm forwarding service which receives your shipment in the us and ships it afterwards to Israe (or להתעלק on your American uncle)
It’s such a great bag BTW; very adjustable, comfortable and practical with many organization option.
my only complaint is that the hip belt is rubbing my hip and it becomes very noticeable after two days of use...
Also, note that the Israely custom can keep your shipment for months before notifing you to pay taxes (or even to simply process the package) with no reasonable cause :(
Would it be ok for man to the woman's one? I prefer the gray and the litre capacity. What's the main difference between the L, M, S is that for torso size?
The sizes are for different torso size and it is recomended to try the backpack to see what ia the best for you, the woman's has little different shape but it is ok for men and for some can be better then the man's
This is a fantastic bag. I owned one for three years, having purchased it from the outdoor retailer I worked for at the time. I had the 75L size and was amazed with the thought put into the bag. Front access, large front pocket, deep side pockets, massive top pockets, a waterproof hip pocket, very comfortable hip belt that moves independently from the back support. Included raincover saves ~$40 CAD too. Easily one of the best bags out there. The reason I sold the bag was because it was too big and allowed me to overpack quite a bit for just myself. It's also not the lightest bag, so I wouldn't recommend it for extended hikes with a lot of ground covered in each day.
As others have mentioned previously, the models in these photos are wearing the bags in such a way that looks painful. The middle of the hip belt should rest on the crest of your hip bone to distribute weight downward and across your hips and not shear force. The shoulder straps should hug your shoulders and leave little (see: no) room between them and your shoulder blades and crest. The chest straps are also drawn too tight it appears, but really that's just to ensure the straps don't slide.
In closing, this price is a good deal for a quality bag that can last a lifetime if not abused. The warranty for Gregory is also very lenient but keep the receipt.
