Anybody knows how the fit compares to an Exos? I'm torso 18 and find the exos medium nor the levity fit me right (feels short in both torso and belt). Interested in seeing how much ventilation helps with sweaty backs but zpacks are too expensive and ospreys don't fit me.

seaoceanngoI'm have a 19' torso and I dialed a Gregory Paragon in at that and it immediately felt right. I initially wanted Osprey packs, but I found them to be too narrow for me (I'm stocky) and the Atmos line felt like it was pulling back on my shoulders no matter how I adjusted the pack or the load. The Paragon transferred the most load to my hips. I've loaded it up to 30 pounds and when adjusted with load lifters pulled in almost all the weight is carried on my hips. The hip belt on the Optic looks almost identical...maybe just a little lighter...but the same in shape and profile.

Cat_DaddyAppreciate the comment. Enough to make me get off my butt and drive 45 minutes to an REI to try.

seaoceanngoI have REI's within 2 miles of both my work and my home. I stop by so often that I might as well get my Massdrop shipments sent there! But so far, REI is not stocking the Optic line in the stores. My assumption is that they will fit similarly to the Paragon line, although the suspension system is different.

seaoceanngoI had exactly the same experience. The paragon is a slam dunk. I have an 18.5 inch torso. Definitely call rei in advance if it's that far of a trip for you. I had to go to two as the first didn't carry it.

Cat_DaddyKeep in mind that the Paragon has an adjustable torso, while the Optic does not. So a fit with the Paragon does not guarantee a fit with the Optic.
