I have the smooth version and noticed they don't seem to line up properly when laid on top of each other. Anyone else notice this?

Mine just arrived a few hours ago. I ordered one pair of each variety. Only been using the nylon ones so far. I've been enjoying them :) I don't notice any smell from either pair unless I actually sniff them close-up.

Received mine on-time, smooth version. Very faint rubber small (only noticeable if I put them up to my nose). When laid flat, they are both about the same height, indistinguishable at plain sight. Seem good quality.
