Bought the pen, sprung extra for the gold nib. No doubt the pen itself is a beautiful pen, as advertised. I'm a little disappointed by how it writes. It skips quite a bit sometimes making it difficult to write an entire line without having to futz with it. It was a hard starter out of the box. I flushed it with water and flow has improved but it isn't where I would expect it to be. It seems to work just fine immediately after filling (and after flushing) ... then slowly returns to skipping. That tells me there is a flow problem somewhere from the converter to the nib. I'm going to try a wetter ink and see if that improves the flow.
Thank you Maurizio for the quick reply. It is writting better after flushing it once but it isn’t satisfactory yet. I’ll follow your instructions and let you know how it works out. By the way, love the fact that you respond to these messages promptly. Great customer service.

I understand... I forward this our messages to Liz of MD staff. May be she could do something even if is Saturday and the drop is close to the end...Sorry for this. Regards from Italy. Maurizio
I got one of the grifos pens as well, the pen and the city from a drop here a number of months ago. I was having g problems with the ink flow initially. I was trying to use their cartridges that came with the pen. They did now flow at all and made for an unpleasant experience.
That said, once I switched to a converter cartridge, it flowed wonderfully and became a joy to use. Just a heads up to whoever purchases this pen in case it doesn't want to write well out of the box.
Hello, thank you to be the first to post on this our new pen. You are right this pen have 18 kt gold plated details. To be true a pen with a solid 18kt gold details nowaday would cost 4-5 time more (check this yourself). As you may see on your same link this same pen (but with rose gold plated details) in Europe cost roughtly 90 $ more and then you must add shipping to US and import duties. MD staff have made a great job sgreeding with us a great wholesale price for MD customers as you . I remain at your disposal!
Best regards from Italy Maurizio
