Product Description
Handcrafted in Italy’s Aosta Valley, this Grifos fountain pen is named for Sirrush: a mythological, dragon-like creature of ancient Mesopotamia with a horned head, a snake’s tongue, eagle talons on its back legs, feline paws on its front legs, and a long neck and tail. Depicted on Babylon’s famous Ishtar Gate, the Sirrush now serves as a muse for this striking pen Read More

Have to agree with you, stubnib; while this pen is out of my current price range, its unique handcrafted nature and high quality materials justify the price. Glad to see items like this one on massdrop.

Ostrich leather... why? Ostriches are wonderful creatures. I really dislike this brand.

AmblypygidI'm staying away from this drop, and I've stayed away from the Grifos Galuchat for the same moral reasons. Just not enough of a guarantee that no animals or the environment were harmed in the production.
The Grifos brand, however, I feel is up-and-coming. I have the Grifos Bog Oak pen and it's nice. Some of the Grifos pen drops on MD look too much like a kit for my taste, but others are quite attractive. Ultimately, I think through providing feedback and keeping an open mind, you'll start seeing better and better things coming from this vendor.
TomaCzarTomaCzar, thank you for your Bog Oak pen purchase. Since nowaday the internet world is full of post where people seeding suspects and disinformation with any ackowledgement of matter and with any proof please let me show you the documet that ALL European leather wholesalers MUST release when leather are sold. Is a conformity document (sorry is in italian) where is stated that stingray skin they sell (and we purchase) are conform to Italian and European Comunity laws about skins and leathers and I assure the laws about are indeed tight fortunately. The document say that the galuchat skins came from allowed and controlled source and also that stingray isn't and endagered specie and isn't included in the Washington declaration also know as CITES. I preferred today spend my time and supply immediately this proof since we would be clear and fair expecially if a doubt is seed. My only regrets is that you have not contacted me about in straight way asking info but have preferred put a doubt on our seriousness writing cross post.

Hello, right, as wrote on thepen text we do not allow to post the cap on barrel. The reason is because ostrich leather is really soft (so confortable and nice to be in hands( but at the same time the cap could damage it day ofter day of posted cap. Is to preserve the beauty of this leather. Best regards from Italy Maurizio
