A Swiss company founded in 1924, Grovana earned acclaim in the heyday of mechanical watches. When quartz movement became universal in the 1980s, Grovana knew it had to adapt to stay ahead of the curve. Though it started producing quartz watches, too, it still stuck to traditional methods of mechanical watchmaking, the techniques of which are on display in this sporty ETA 2824-2–powered timepiece. Featuring all the cues you’d expect in a traditional diver—like a notched bezel, chunky markers and hands, and a thick stainless steel case, this watch has a classic look for any occasion. Thanks to a robust construction and shrouded screw-down crown, the diver is water resistant to an impressive 300 meters, which means it’s suitable for SCUBA diving up to 300 meters for 2 hours.
