Anybody else confused on how they're supposed to use the included ring? It's solid.

boris_hoIt shouldn't be solid. It isn't like a traditional wire key ring -- it is more of a flat cast key ring so you'll need to pry it open a bit to get your keys on there. If it IS solid, send me an email to guardedgoods@gmail.com with a picture so I can see it. I'll send a replacement if necessary.
