I like these models but I have been holding out due to concerns of painting them poorly. Has anyone found these difficult to paint or does the larger size of these make the details easier? I used to dabble in 40k models but they were so tiny that I was rarely happy with the end result. Thanks in advance for any responses!

ValzaanThey are larger and easier to paint. I paint D&D figures and these are much, much easier.

ValzaanMaster Grade kits are big enough and have enough color separation that you don't have to do anything really and they will look impressive. Having said that, a few quick additions will make the kits pop a lot more with very little work (panel lining, painting small details, flat/gloss coat). Painting and fixing up a whole kit is not hard either but it is the extra step and of course takes a bit more time and work.

ValzaanCome to reddit.com/r/gunpla. Lots of support and tutorials. You absolutely do not need to paint these to get a good looking kit. Basic panel lining, decals, and a top coat and you'll have a really nice looking piece. Most Master Grade kits are around 8-9 inches tall, so are much larger than WH40K miniatures. The detail is clear and easy to highlight with a panel line marker or a basic wash. Most MG decals are stickers, and are easy to apply. You can get a good Mr. Hobby or Tamiya topcoat in a can for about $10-15 (like this: http://www.gundamplanet.com/mr-top-coat-spray-88ml-flat.html). But even if all you do is an OOB build, it's still going to look pretty cool, and the $30.99 price point is decent (dunno how much the shipping is, though...). This kit at this price could well be a good place to start.
edit: just saw the shipping is about $9. That puts this on a par with Amazon Prime ($40.43 and free shipping). Still a pretty good price.

ValzaanI just wish they were made of a plastic that didn't need priming.
