More Luxottica. Look up hostile take-over and monopoly and you'll find this company.
The original global monopoly that just keeps getting stronger every year through predatory practices and aggressive and deceptive marketing.
They now own not only virtually all eye-wear, they also own all the department store brands too, and the places that prescribe you glasses in the first place. The reason eyeglasses are so expensive, is because of this company.

I know what you are thinking, don't just tell me about a BIG problem, give me solutions, alternatives. Ok, try this: - Don't but from any Luxottica products or brands for one year. Make 2018 the year the world freed itself from this monopoly. - Buy from their competitors, such as:

ConsumerAdvocateAs bad as Luxottica is for the glasses market I haven't been able to find any link between them and Gunnar. Do you have a source?
FireboltfuryI stand corrected. I think. Someone should really research this, but I now think Gunnar is owned by Zeiss, a German company. It was Essilor, a French company that was purchased by Luxottica. I don't know of any relationship between Luxottica and Gunnar. If anyone finds one, please let us know.
Thank you!

ConsumerAdvocateI don't think Maui Jim are owned by Luxottica either, fortunate because they are absolutely the best polarised lens around.

ConsumerAdvocateI used to wear Revos and they had a fantastic warranty. I went to deal with an issue after the take over and they said no. So no more Revos for me.
